Minutes of a Special meeting of The Estes Park Regional Planning Commission.
Meeting held in the Town Hall on April 28, 1965, at i^:00 P.M.

Also Present: Bill V^yatt, Assistant County Attorney.
R.C. Brodie, L.F. Flower.
This Special meeting called by Chairman Miles, in order to meet
with Mr. Bill V/yatt.
Mr. Wyatt stated that a problem existed within the County because
of lack of facilities for over night accomodations for raobil
camper units. The present trailer camp Ordinance appears to be
too restrictive to adapt itself to the smaller campers. A proposal
is being considered by the County to permit campers within the
present Tourist Zone, providing the site complies with County
regulations governing the same. Folloxirlng considerable discussion
James Bissell moved the folloxiring:
That this Commission support proposed County regulations
pertaining to camper sites;That the Zoning Resolution be amended to include an additional
zone that would permit campers;That any petition filed, asking for a camper site, be processed
as an application for re-zonlrig.Louis Canaiy seconded the motion. iUpon roll call said motion
unanimously carried.
The Commission discussed the construction now being completed
Just East of the Town of Estes Park on Highway # 34, by
Calico Inc. % Mr. Rex Walker. The Secretary reported that the
building permit issued, permitted the construction of a business
building, and.did not provide for any trailer or camper
accomodations. Clarende Gillett moved that the Secretary be
instructed to write Mr* Walker a letter to the effect that the
accomodation of any trailers or campers at,this site would be in
violation of the present Zoning Resolution. Val Bernard seconded
the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried.
Mr. Wyatt conducted an open discussion regarding the proposed
subdivision regulations.
Mr. Wyatt explained the proposed changes in signs covered by the
Zoning Resolution. Clarence Gillett moved that this Commission
recommend that signs in the F A District shall not exceed 100
sq. ft. James Bissell seconded the motion. Upon roll call said
motion carried by the folloxving vote: Those voting ’'yes” Hix,
Swanson, Bernard, Gillett, Stewart, Bissell. Those voting "No"
Canaiy, Petroclne.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
