Minutes of a Regular meeting of the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT /
COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE of the Town of Estes Park, Larimer
County, Colorado. Meeting held in Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on
the 23rd day of September 2010.

Trustee Miller called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

SURPRISE SIDEWALK SALE RESOLUTION.
The Surprise Sidewalk Sale is a shoulder-season event scheduled for the weekend of
October 9 and 10, 2010. This year’s event will be held from 9:00 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. on
both Saturday and Sunday, and will be advertised locally and in Front Range nnarkets.
Participation in the event is extended to all local merchants, regardless of whether the
business location is outside the downtown area. Staff recommends approval of a
resolution to allow the event to take place in the CD District. The resolution does not
contain signage exemptions for the event, but pending the adoption of amendments to
the sign code, the existing sign code is not being enforced at this time. Staff requests
that merchants utilizing tent-type signage for the Surprise Sidewalk Sale attach weig s
to the signs to help them withstand potentially windy conditions. S,9na9® jtt

recommends approval of the resolution to allow the Surpr se s,dfwaJ^ ®a^ to
occur within the CD District. The resolution will be an action item on the September
28, 2010, Town Board meeting agenda.

summer included the Draft Horse Show and the Colorado Senior Pro Chanty
Rodeo Attendance at the Rooftop Rodeo increased this year with the Rodeo
once aaain being named one of the top six small rodeos in the nation. Staff

Catering for All Occasions received an excellent rating from the Larimer Coun y
He^th^Department inspectors. Attendance at Senior Center programs continues
to increase.

* Putdoor Display of Merchandise - The Planning Commission will review code
language related to the regulation of Outdoor Display of Merchandise and
associated regulations, EVDC Section 7.13 Outdoor Storage Areas Activities and
EVpC Section 5.3.D1 Mechanical Equipment and Temporary Seasonal and
Holiday Sales, allowing for public input.
* Monthly Building Permit Summary - Nine single family home permits have been
issued year to date.
* Community Development Financial Report - Expenditures are within budget.
There being no further business. Trustee Miller adjourned the meeting at 8:20 a.m.
