Minutes of a regular meeting held on August 18,1970,were read and
approved as read.
In accordance with the legal publication dated August 27,1970,the
Chairman of the Planning Commission proceeded to conduct a public hear
ing regarding the re-zoning of a portion of Lot 5 of the Nanford Addi
tion to the Town of Estes Fark,Colorado,from the present C-2 Commercial
District to a C-l Commercial District.Mr.Joel Bacon spoke in favor of
the reāzoning.There were several persons present expressing their op
position to the re-zoning.Gerald H.Brownfield moved this re-zoning
request be denied.Glenn Prosser seconded the motion.Upon roll call
the motion unanimously carried.The Planning Commission recommends to
the Board of Trustees that this request be denied.
Dwight Whitney and Lowell Soester,of the Larimer County Planning Office,
presented some proposed amendments to the County Subdivision Ordinance
pertaining to the controlling of excavation on slopes.Based on soil
analysis and topography,some locations may be prohibited from develop
ment.A possibility for keeping mountain sides from being torn up is
the cluster housing concept.This does not mean increasing the density
at all as set forth in the present zoning resolution.It is being con
sidered to allow cluster housing in all zones.
There being no further business,the meeting adjourned.
