1988 were submitted and approved.
2. ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Chairman Habecker opened the meeting and asked for nomina
tions for Chairman and Vice-chairman. Member Garrett moved
to nominate the present officers of Dave Habecker as
Chairman and A1 Sager as Vice-chairman. Member Barker
seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous. Member
Lamson was absent. Carolyn Jones was appointed secretary.
3. Terry T. & Paulette S. Riedesel, Riverview Pines Motel, 1150
W. Elkhorn Ave., Variance Request.
Mrs. Paulette S. Riedesel appeared before the Board seeking
a variance from Section 17.20.040 which requires a side yard
setback of 15 ft., and to permit construction of an addition
to the existing building at Riverview Pines Motel with a 5
ft. side yard setback. Mrs. Riedesel stated that the new
addition would be used as a laundry room and office for the
motel.
Building Official Allman noted that, with the 12" roof
overhang into the 5 ft. setback, the soffet on the addition
would need to be fire protected.
Planner Stamey advised that no correspondence had been
received either in favor of or in opposition to this
variance request.
Robert Van Horn addressed the Board speaking for Alan and
Cheryl Cripe, owners of the 4 Seasons Motel, who are
adjacent property owners and out of town at this time. He
stated that their concern was that the addition not be used
as a gathering place or game room because of its close
proximity to their cabins and the possible noise level.
Discussion followed regarding configuration of the existing
building and the proposed addition. Member Sager moved for
approval of this variance request to permit a side yard
setback of 5 ft. for the new building addition. Member
Garrett seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:30
a.m.
