ALBERT R. WIGHT;
Mr. Albert R. Wight, owner of a portion of Lots 30 and 31, Riverside
Subdivision, appeared before the Board of Adjustment to appeal the
decision of the Town Building Inspector. This decision resulted in
the denial of a building permit.
Town Building Inspector William G. Van Horn explained to the Board of
Adjustment the reasons the building permit was refused. They were;
1. A portion of the building extends approximately one foot
into the front yard setback.
2. Off-street parking requirements call for five spaces and
only four spaces are provided.
Mr. Wight requested the Board of Adjustment grant variances for both of
the conflicts with the Municipal Code.
Member Palmer moved that the variance request to allow the building to
project into the front yard setback by approximately one foot be
denied. Member Herzog seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion
unanimously carried.
Member Wagner moved that the variance allowing four off-street parking
spaces in lieu of five be granted. Member Herzog seconded the motion.
After considerable discussion. Member Herzog withdrew the second and
Member Wagner withdrew the motion.
Member Palmer moved that the Board of Adjustment grant the variance
allowing four off-street parking spaces in lieu of five providing the
garage and small attached building are removed. Member Prosser seconded
the motion. Upon roll call the motion unanimously carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
