Chairman Barker called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.
1. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
A.Estes Valley Planning Commission Update. Director
Stamey reported that the Commission has been reviewing
the working draft" of Chapters 4 and 5 of the
Codest and the most recent study session was held October 21^. The EVPC will prepare a draft for

thus far, and a portion of these contributions have
been expended on the logo, slogan, and web site
development. The business community is supplementing
the Town funding.
Ads on Channel 4 have begun, and this buy will
be the overall invitation to Estes Park. Specific
event information will remain with print ads.
Discussion on channel ratings and buy value followed.
3.MUSEUM.

Budget: The Committee reviewed two bids to restore the
Cobb-Macdonald Cabin, and staff is proposing to
complete the project for $7,500 which includes a Front
Range Log Homes bid of $4,420, a consultant for $1,000,

$2,080. The Committee recommends acceptance of the
Front Range Log Homes bid of $4,420, plus associated
Items Identified above for $3,080 for a total budget
expenditure of $7,500.00.
1998 Exhibits. A new exhibit, "Collectors Choice" will

G.Award. Director Kilsdonk displayed an award received
by the Museum for the "Tracts in Time" Exhibit. The
award exemplifies the significant amount of volunteer
hours expended on this exhibit.
SENIOR CENTER.
A. Personnel. ^ Jody Thompson was introduced and welcomed
as the^ Senior Center Director, and she presented the
following Senior Center report.
B. Meals. The Center served 843 meals onsite and 482
home-delivered meals during September for a total of 1,325 meals.
C. Miscellaneous,

The Center held an Octoberfest
October 16th and over $100.00 was
Estes Park Senior Center, Inc., the Center's Advisory
nnn Board, recently received two grants; a
$ O,000 grant from the Gates Foundation-the Foundation
J^he 5^ant for landscaping; and a $25,000 grant from the Johnson Foundation which will be used to
purchase furnishings. Trustee Doylen urged, that prior
o finalizing Senior Center landscaping plans, staff

SHf!lior Center Board is working on ways of
attracting business to the Center during the fall and
winter months, such as inviting Senior Centers to have
lunch and sponsoring Bronco parties.
SPECIAL EVENTS.
A. Rooftop Rodeo Committee Report. Director Hinze
announced that Rooftop Rodeo received Choice" Award for iqqr nrefeived the "Cowboy. iyy8 from the Rocky Mountain Cirmii-There are 84 rodeos in the Rocky Mountain Ci^cui^ and
this IS the fourth year Rooftop has received
prestigious award. Additionally, Powder River
Productions, Rooftop's stock Contractor t?w2ated a,S. the 1998 stock CoS?actor Of the vL6?"
here are 75 stock contractors, and a field of fiv^
C?n^KaCt0rS are nominated; the award will be presented
at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Veaas

volunteers in continuing the Town's Rooftop Rodeo
tradition.
CANCELLATION OF MEETINGS. Due to the conflict with upcoming
holidays, the November and December Committee meetings are
canceled.
There being no further business. Chairman Barker adjourned the
meeting at 9:05 a.m.
