Mature Outlook - sample ads were presented. August 31 statistics
exceed all objectives set for 1991; year-to-date inquiries are up
24% and have surpassed 1990 year-end inquiries; year-to-date phone
calls are up 33% and have also surpassed 1990 year-end calls; and

Administration staff, and praised the efforts being provided by
said staff.
CONFERENCE CENTER - UPDATE.
Sales & Marketing Director Pickering reported that over 2,000
people attended the Conference Center Grand Opening August 24,
which included over 50 meeting planners. Following the opening,
bookings have heavily increased, with 13 confirmed conferences in
92/93. An additional six (6) conferences are pending.
In cooperation with the Estes Park Conference Association, the
first ,,FAM" Tour was held this past weekend. Scheduled activities
included a tour of Bear Lake, horse ride w/steak fry, and dinner
and play at The Stanley Hotel.
Registration bags, in part designed by staff, are being provided at
the registration desk. The primary purpose of the bag, which
contains area information and advertising material, is to market
the entire community. Chamber Ambassadors have been invited to
help staff the registration desks to provide assistance.
Staff anticipates establishing a poster program in 1992. Posters
welcoming each conference group will be placed in storefronts. By
providing the Ambassadors and posters, the community should rise
above other communities in the conference market.
Comments from attendees have been very favorable, and the Holiday
Inn staff has performed admirably. The Committee applauded
Director Pickering for his efforts.
ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS - PRESENTATION.
Advertising Manager Marsh entered the "Take a Peak", "Cloud 9", and
"This Could Spoil You" magazine ads, "lure" brochure, 10-Day
Vacation Planner, regional daily newspaper advertisements and

Association Award Program. Community Development Director Stamey
announced that the application package submitted by Manager Marsh

marketing by a community with a population under 50,000. In
recognition of this prestigious accomplishment, Peter Marsh
