The Committee reviewed a proposed budget in the amount of $15,000 for the Christmas Parade scheduled November 23, 1990. Staff reported: (1) Connie Boschen has been retained as the Parade Coordinator; (2) the route will be extended; (3) there will be no obstructions located on Elkhorn Avenue; (4) alternative/satellite parking areas are being discussed; and (5) all-day activities are being planned. Staff also advised that Stanley Park support services were being proposed, as well as a lease/purchase of a sound system which could be used on a year-round basis. The Committee recommends approval of the 1990 Budget ($15,000), providing support services from Stanley Park, and the lease/purchase of a sound system, encouraging additional funding from the private sector. REPORTS. Melody Page, Artistic Director/Creative Ensemble Productions, presented information of the local, professional, theatre company. Ms. Page stressed that the ensemble's intent is to become a valuable asset to the community as part of the Town's expanding cultural arts program. Following discussion, the Committee suggested Ms. Page contact Connie Boschen to discuss potential service during the activities planned on the day of the Christmas Parade, and the RMNP relating to the Park's 75th Anniversary. Eric Blackhurst/Forward Estes Park Foundation, reviewed activities for the housing survey. The consulting firm will conduct personal inter­ views with the 30 largest employers, and will mail employee surveys to approximately 120 randomly-selected businesses (in and out of Town). Approximately 700 employees will receive surveys through these employ­ ers. Additionally, approximately 700 employer surveys will be dis­ tributed. Mr. Blackhurst will provide copies of the survey to all Committee members. Lauren Dannels reported that the Larimer County Housing Advisory Committee has submitted a grant application to HUD. ^ Ms. Dannels advised that the Second Annual Rural Housing Conference will be held in Fort Collins October 24 and 25, 1990, and that the Board of Realtors has expressed an interest in funding Ms. Dannels' registration. The Committee reviewed year-to-date statistics for building permits and traffic counts. Director Stamey also reviewed a newsletter received from the Town's Sister City, Hammond, Oregon. While attending a nearby conference. Mayor Dannels visited with city officials from Hammond. ,1-1 ri^p,-nn-.-Fnr-thpr business.
