BOX 1200, ESTES PARK CO. 80517 WWW.ESTES.ORG July 29, 2021 THOMAS/DRESELLY ESTES LAKE HAUS Attn: Stephen Thomas & Carol Dreselly 1990 Vassar Dr Boulder, CO 80305 RE: 361 Lakefront St Vacation Home Registration On March 18, 2020 the Town Clerk’s Office sent notification indicating the application for 361 Lakefront St had been removed from the waitlist for processing. Additionally, Larimer County Assessor records, stated 361 Lakefront St has two approved bedrooms and therefore the five bedrooms listed on the vacation home license application submitted to the Town Clerk’s Office on April 2, 2019 resulted in a discrepancy. The notice, and a reminder sent on July 7, 2020, directed you to contact the Town Building Division to address the discrepancy. A notice was sent on December 17, 2020 requiring you to contact the Town Building Division by January 6, 2021. Additional communication has been made with Chief Building Official Rusu granting a two-week extension to June 24, 2021. As of the date of this letter, the Town Building Division has not received any further correspondence or inquiry to resolve the bedroom discrepancy at 361 Lakefront St. As this issue has continued for over a year, the Clerk’s Office has determined your vacation home license application will be processed under the vacation home regulations which state: Estes Park Municipal Code Vacation Home Regulations 5.20.110(a)(8)(i) To be issued a new license, a vacation home or bed and breakfast inn must first undergo and pass a life safety inspection or other required building inspection as applicable, and receive a certificate of occupancy that allows for such use, such as described in section 14.12.025 of the [Municipal] code, section R321 of the International Residential Code as amended. The following deadlines will thus be imposed from the date of this letter: • 30 Days from the Town Clerk notification for the owner to request a pre- inspection by contacting the Town Clerk, complete the pre-inspection, and, if required, submit a building permit application to the Building Division. 08-28-2021 Town Clerk Municipal Court Licensing Elections 970-577-4777 townclerk@estes.org 170 MACGREGOR AVE. BOX 1200, ESTES PARK CO. 80517 WWW.ESTES.ORG • 30 Days from issuance of the above building permit, the applicant must complete an initial inspection. • 90 Days from the building inspection, the applicant must complete and pass a final inspection, if required, for additional bedrooms to be approved. Enclosed please find the process for rectifying a bedroom discrepancy. If you do not intend to move forward with the vacation home application, please complete the withdrawal form located on the Town’s website at estes.org/vacationhomelicensing. If no communication is received by the Clerk’s Office by the 30-day deadline listed above, your application will be considered incomplete and voided. Any reapplication will be subject to the cap. Additionally, if the VH/B&B application is withdrawn at any point during the above outlined process, the Town Clerk’s office will forward information to the Building Division for further action of any building code violations.
