HomeMy WebLinkAboutPROCLAMATION Volunteer Recognition Day0 0 Qtc Jark,(otorabo to clarnatlo a WHEREAS,the foundation of a humane and just society is the people’s willingness to work together for the common good;and WHEREAS,all over the Town of Estes Park,service projects are,and will be,performed;and WHEREAS,in 2015 486 volunteer roles were filled by 453 volunteers for a contribution of 38,131 hours;and WHEREAS,in the State of Colorado,volunteer time is valued at $25.10 per hour,making the total contribution of our 2015 volunteers $957,091.61;and WhEREAS,the Town of Estes Park acknowledges the commitment to service made by citizens,and honors them with the dedication of a trio of interactive musical instrument pieces on the Riverwalk;and WHEREAS,it is the duty of every citizen and leader to honor our dedicated volunteers and celebrate the volunteer programs that contribute to the quality of life in Estes Park. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park do hereby proclaim August 31,2016 as VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION DAY in the Town of Estes Park,and urge all citizens to join in recognizing these unselfish,committed individuals.
