HomeMy WebLinkAboutPROCLAMATION Student Local Government Day 2008-03-25WHEREAS,StudentLocalGovernmentDayprovidesopportunitiesforoutgoinghighschoolseniorstoexperiencevariouslevelsofgovpoperationsincludingtheroleofelectedofficials;andWHEREAS,DaveMartin,EstesParkHighSchoolSocialStudiesteacher,andLowellRichardson,DeputyTownAdministrator,coordinatedthe2008EstesParkStudentLocalGovernmentDay;andWHEREAS,thejointcooperationofgovernmentalcounterpartssuchasLarimerCounty,EstesValleyRecreationandParkDistrict,andUpperThompsonSanitationDistrictmadethiseventpossible;andWHEREAS,thestudentsspenttimeinthedepartmentsoftheirchoicebaseduponpossiblecareerinterests,exposingthemtoalllevelsoftheorganizationfromlineworktomanagement.NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVED,thattheMayorandBoardofTrusteesoftheTownofEstesParkproclaimTuesday,March25,2008asSTUDENTLOCALGOVERNMENTDAYintheTownofEstesPark,Coloradoandallcitizensofthecommunityareencouragedtosupportthisevent.InwitnesswhereofIhavehereuntosetmyhandandcausedthisseattobeaffixed.JohnBaudek,MayorAftest:____________________________March25,2008••‘J•••
