HomeMy WebLinkAboutPROCLAMATION Steiner, Greig 2018-12-18Qtc j3irt,(otorabo ro clamatto a ‘WHEREAS,the Town of Estes Park,Colorado has been the beneficiary of Greig Steiner’s talents,creativity,energy and selfless dedication to the arts in our community for sixty-years;and ‘WHEREAS,Greig Steiner’s theater career has included designing, directing,dancing,acting,and producing over his long career;and ‘iVHEREAS,Greig Steiner served his country during the Korean war with the US Army Special Services as stage director and project designer for performances to entertain US,British and Korean troops;and WHEREAS,Greig Steiner has both designed sets and directed dozens of performances in Estes Park including:The Sound of Music,Barefoot in the Park,A Midsummer Night’s Dream,The Gin Game,The Secret Garden,Private Lives,How to Eat Like a Child and many more;and WHEREAS,Ann Steiner opened their first gallery in 1967 and in 1973-74 Ann and Greig designed and built the first stages of the Courtyard Shops to contain the Greig Steiner Gallery;and ‘‘VHEREAS,Greig is known for his paintings of the Rocky Mountain area as well as works created in Mexico,Hawaii,the Caribbean and other places around the world;and \‘VHEREAS,Greig works mostly in oil,sculpts in bronze and cold cast marble, terracotta and porcelain and his work has been shown from coast to coast in the US in one-man shows as well as in galleries from New York to California;and ‘i’VHEREAS,The fine Arts Guild of the Rockies recognized Greig Steiner on December 7th,2018 at the Arts Center of Estes Park for his 60 years of achievements. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park do hereby recognize Greig Steiner And do hereby find it an honor and distinct pleasure to present this proclamation in recognition of his many contributions and the joy he has brought to the Town of Estes Park.
