WHEREAS,the National League of Cities is committed to
promoting municipal support for early care and education as
a fundamental aspect of a healthy community;and
WHEREAS,the National League of Cities has urged local
officials across the country to join a national campaign to
promote early childhood success;and
WHEREAS,the Town of Estes Park believes that supporting
young children (ages birth-five)is fundamentally important to the
future success of the community;and
WHEREAS,the health and welfare of children and families are key
indicators of the well-being of the community of Estes Park and of critical
importance to all residents;and
WHEREAS,the Town of Estes Park along with area businesses,
organizations and clubs,specifically Bank of Colorado,Estes Park Medical
Center,Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary,First National Bank of Estes Park,
PaCK,Quota Club and West Star Bank will sponsor a round table discussion
among area childcare providers to provide a venue for discussion and
exchange of ideas related to childcare in the Estes Park area;and
WHEREAS,our children are our future.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Trustees
of the Town of Estes Park hereby declare the week of October 19,2003 as
LITTLE KIDS,BIG PLANS WEEK
In the Town of Estes Park and urge all citizens to join together to support this
effort.
