HomeMy WebLinkAboutPROCLAMATION Hazelton, Gary & Kris 2020-06-23* (etc Jrk,otorbo ro tiarnation WhEREAS,the Town of Estes Park,Colorado has been the beneficiary of Gary &Kris Hazelton’s talents,creativity,energy, selfless dedication,community phulanthropv.anclbuilcling community engagement;and WhEREAS,Gary &Kris Hazelton have owned and operated the free weekly Estes Park News since 1999,with continuous publication,and their photographs and videos have documented Estes Park history and captured the spirit of the communit for the town and its visitors alike; and WTFIEREAS,in 2015 Gary &Kris Hazeltoii were recognized with the Business Philanthropists of the Year award;and VIIEREA.S,Gary &Kris 1-lazelton have enhanced the community by supporting fundraising initiatives such as the Ambulance Fund Drive,and championing local nonprofit organizations;and VHEREAS,Gary &Kris 1-lazelton have been named Honorary Members of the Rotary Club of Estes Park for their years of support for the annual Estes Park Duck Race.Additionally,Gary Hazelton was named Big Duck in 2008 and Kris Hazelton was named Big Duck in 2012;and iVHEREAS,Gary &Kris Hazelton have invested their time and expertise to the community by assisting in the creation of the Elk Festival in 1999,which has become one of the highest attended annual attractions in Estes Park,enjoyed liv thousands. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park do hereby recognize Gary &Kris Hazelton And do hereby find it an honor and distinct pleasure to present this proclamation in recognition of their many contributions and the joy they have brought to the Town of Estes Park.
