HomeMy WebLinkAboutPROCLAMATION Child Abuse Prevention MonthØ4L’3Litat (tc.ark,to1orabo ci damation WHEREAS,children have a right to thrive,learn,and grow to their full potential;and WHEREAS,children are key to our community’s ftiture success,prosperity,and quality of life;while children are our most precious resource,they are also our most vulnerable;and WHEREAS,strengthening families is one of the most effective ways to prevent child abuse and neglect,ensuring the opportunity for children to develop in healthy,trusting families,schools,and neighborhoods;and WUEREAS,when we ensure the healthy development of the next generation,they are more likely to contribute positively to our communities and be productive,responsible citizens;and WHEREAS,we all play a role in preventing child abtise and neglect and there are ways everyone can get involved to help a child;and WHEREAS,we must come together as partners to keep children safe, and extend a helping hand to children and families in need;and WHEREAS,I call upon all Estes Park residents to ensure safe,stable,and nurturing relationships and environments for our children,free of violence, abuse and neglect; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Trustees of the Town of Estes Park do hereby proclaim the month of April 2021,as CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH in the Town of Estes Park,and urge all citizens to recognize and support the well-being of children in our community. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused this seal to be affixed. \/J To1d A.Jirsa,Mayor N Aftest April 21,2020 .1 S.:. and 1tkir (tti park.Qtotorabo ion WHEREAS,children are our most precious resource and our hope for the future,and WHEREAS,child abuse is a serious community issue that occurs in every neighborhood in America and preventing child abuse depends upon the involvement and cooperation of all people and organizations within the State of Colorado;and WHEREAS,all citizens must work to prevent child abuse within their community by becoming aware of the problem of child abuse and its negative impacts,by working to protect children,and by giving parents the support they need to raise their children in a safe,nurturing environment,and WHEREAS,programs aimed at ending child abuse and neglect need support from all Coloradoans,and WHEREAS,by providing a safe and nurturing environment for our child,free of violence,abuse and neglect,we will ensure that the children of our state will grow to full potential and will develop into contributing citizens of tomorrow. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park proclaim the month of April 2002 as CHILD ABUSE PREVENJ1ON MONTH in the Town of Estes Park,and urge all citizens and urge all citizens to wear a blue ribbon as a symbol of their commitment to fight child abuse and neglect.
