HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION OF RESPECT Hill, Dale 2015-11-10WhEREAS,in recognition of former Town Administrator Dale Hilt,
his groundbreaking career with the Town of Estes Park,and to honor him at the
time of his passing in September 2015,at the age of 92,and
WHEREAS,Dale Hilt was born in Longmont,Colorado,served as a
pilot in the United States Navy,and attended Woodbury College in Los Angeles,
California.He moved to Estes Park in 1945 and was employed at the Estes Park
Bank for four years;and
WHEREAS,Dale Hill began his 39 years of employment with the
Town of Estes Park in 1949 when he was hired as an accountant.He was
appointed Town Clerk in 1962,being only the fourth person in the Town’s history
to hold that position;and was appointed to serve as the first Town Administrator
for the Town of Estes Park beginning on January 1,1969;and
WHEREAS,as the Town Administrator,Dale Hit!was charged with
administering the orders of the Town Board and its Committees;with the efficient
administration of all departments of the Town government;supervision of the
enforcement of all laws and ordinances;creation and recommendation of an
annual budget to the Board and administration of the budget as adopted;and
keeping the Board advised of the financial condition of the Town.Additionally,
Mr.Hill retained all of the responsibilities and duties of the Town Clerk position
until 1978.Mr.Hill retired from his service to the Town in March 1988;and
WHEREAS,during his tenure with the Town of Estes Park,Dale Hill
facilitated the revision,approval,increase,establishment,improvement,and/or
implementation of the following:
Water System Improvements
Light and Power Utility Improvements
Development of additional Town-owned
Parking Lots
Passage of the Town of Estes Park Sales
Tax Proposal
[ncreased Municipal Services to
Residents
Open Space Acquisition and River
Beautification Efforts
Local Master Plan
Transportation Planning
Efforts to increase year ‘round business
opportunities
Windy Gap Water Project
WHEREAS,Dale Hill was a gracious and dignified representative of
the Town of Estes Park,a member of the Rotary Club,the American Legion,
served on the Legislative Committee of the Colorado Municipal League,and was
Chairman and Secretary of the Six-City Group.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and
Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,by this Resolution and Public
Record,recognize the dedication of Dale Hill and express our
profound appreciation for his service ‘ty.
