ORDINANCE NO.6
AN ORDENANCE FOR THE LICENSING
OF PIN BALL MACHINES AND OTHER
AMUSEMENT DEVICES AND REGULAT
ING THE USE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
SECTION I
That subject to the conditions hereinafter stated
it shall be lawful for any place of business in the Town of
Estes Park to install and operate pin-ball machines,photo
electric machines,and other similar amusement devices,which
are not disigned or operated as gambling devices,and in the
operation of which no merchandise,money or thing of value is
received by the player and which are played solely for the
purpose of amusement.
SECTION II
No such devices or machines shall be installed or
operated unless the owner or proprietor of the place of
business desiring to install and operate the same shall apply
for and receive a license therefor,which license shall be
issued by the Town Clerk as apprvi o tue hoard of Trustees
and upon payment to the Town by the licensee of the sum of
Ten dollars for each place licensed,for a period of one year
or fraction of a year.Such license shall expire on December
31st next,after date of issue and no rebate of the license or
part thereof shall be made in any event;and no reduction shall
be made in the license fee for license issued for a fraction
of a year.
SECTION III
It shall be unlawful for any licensee to permit
persons under eighteen years of age to play any such machines
or devices,or to operate or permit the operation of the same
as gambling devices,or to give away any merchandise,money
or thing of value as a prize or inducement to play said
machines;provided,however,it shall be lawful for players
to be given the privilege of additional free games on such
machines or devices as a prize for high scores.
SECTION IV
In the event of the violation of any of the
provisions of this Ordinance either by the licensee,his
agent or employee,said license may be revoked or such
licensee by subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars
or more than Fifty Dollars,or subject to both such fine and
revocation of license.
Passed and adopted,signed and approved,this
tenth day of June,1940.

BE IT ORDAI’ED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE T&N
OF ESTES PAR1,COL0RtDO:
Section 1.That out of the moneys and revenues to be derived
from the collection of general taxes during the year 1940 and levied
by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,on all
taxable property within the corporate limits of said Town for the
year 1939 in the total amount of 20.1 mills on each dollar of assessed
valuation of said property,which collections are estimated at
l5,l02.85,and from the moneys derived from the general and mis
cellaneous revenues during the year 1940 and estimated at lO,122.l5,
making a total estimated amount to be derived from taxes,general
and miscellaneous revenues and cash on hand in the sun of $25,225.00,
there is hereby appropriated for the fiscal year beginning April 1st,
1940 and ending March 31st,1941,the following amounts for the
following respective purposes,to—wit:

General Government 3,020.00
Police Department 2,700.00
Health 275.00
Sanitation 3,150.00
Highways 6,900.00
Contingent 7,100.00
Park Fund 300.00
Capita].Fund b780.00
Total 25,225.00
Section 2.That out of the moneys and revenues to be derived
from the operation of the Town of Estes Park Municipal Water System
during the year 1940,estimated at 15,OOOO0,there is hereby
appropriates the following amounts for the following respective
purposes,to-wit:
Salary of Superintendent 2,100.00
Wages 1,029.00
Office Expense 800.00
Supplies &Materials 1,200.00
Autrobile Expense 271.0O
Bond Interest 2,255.00
Plant Investment 4,245.00
B ond Redemption 2,500.00
Total 15,000.00

Section 3.The Board of Trustees herewith finds,determines
and declares that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace,health and safety,and whereas
in the opinion of the Board of Trustees an emergency exists,this
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its final
passage and adoption.
