ANNUAL APfROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL AR
BEGINNING APRIL 1,1937 AND ENDING MARCH 31,1938.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES CF THE TON OF
ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That out of the moneys and revenues to be
derived from the collection of general taxes during the year
1937 and levied by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estee
Park,Colorado,on all taxable property within the corporate
limits of said Town for the year 1937 in the total amount of
17 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation of said property,
v:hich collections are estimated at *10,772.22,and from the moneys
derived from the general and miscellaneous revenues during the
year 1937 and estimated at $3,6T2.OO making a total estimated
amount to be derived from taxes,general and miscellaneous revenues
and cash on hand in the sum of $14,444.22,there is hereby
appropriated for the fiscal year beginning April let,1937 and
end r.arch 31st,1932,the following amounts for the following
respective purposes,to—wit
GENERAL FUND
General Government 820.00
Police Department 2,025.00
Health 250.00 ‘
Sanitation 2 ,47.00
Highways 4,600.00
Recreation 100.00
Contingent 1,776.44
Park Fund 775.00
Library Fund 264.28
Capital Fund 1,356.50
Total $14,444.22
Section 2.That out of the moneys and revenues to be derived
from the operation of the Town of Estee Park 1unicipa1 Water System
during the year 1937,estimated at $11,600.00,there is hereby
appropriated the following amounts for the following respective
purposes,to—wit:
Salary of 5uperintendent 2,100.00
Wages 500.00
Office Expense 600.00
Supplies &Materials $12.50
Mitomobile Expense 300.00
Bond Interest 2,587.50
Plant Investment 2,200.00
Bond Redemption 2,500.00
Total $11,600.00
Section 3.The Board of Trustees herewith finds,determines
and declares that this Ordinance is necessary for the innediate
preservation of the public peace,health and safety and whereas
in the opinion of the Board of Trustees an emergency exists,
this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force after its final
passage and adoption.

Amendment to Ordinance No.15 entitled,“An Ordinance in
Relation to Building Construction and Building Permits,in the Fire
Limits of the Town of Estes Park”,which Ordinance No.15 was passed
and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park on
the 26th day of May,1919.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TO1NN OF
ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Section 4 of Ordinance No.15 of the Town of
1stes Park,passed and adopted on the 26th day of May,1919,be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
“Section 4.All outside and party walls of all buildings in
said fire limits shall be constructed of stone,brick,concrete,hollow
tile or cement,and all roofs thereon shall be covered with tin,slate,
tile or gravel,or such building and roofs shall be constructed in such
manner and may be made of such other material as is,or hereafter may be,
approved as fire proof material and proper construction by the board of
The Rocky Mountain Fire Underwriters Association.And no existing
wooden shingle roof,if damaged more than twenty—five (25)per cent shall
be renewed,or repaired with other than incombustible roof covering.”
Section 2.That Section 5 of said Ordinance No.15 as amended
May 8,1922,be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
“Section 5.Outside,or party walls not exceeding twenty-four
(24)feet in height from top of foundation to a point twenty-four (24)inches
above roof line,shall not be less than twelve (12)inches in thickness,if
of brick,tile,or concrete,and not less than sixteen (16)incks in thick
ness if of stone.Exceeding twenty-four (24)feet in height,all walls
shall not be less than sixteen (16)inches in thickness,for the first twenty-
four (24)feet,if of brick,tile,or concrete,nor less than eighteen (18)
inches in thickness if of stone.Reinforced concrete walls,with steel
reinforcement running both horizontally and vertically having no less than
one-half pound of reinforcement steel for each Sq.Ft.of wall,may have a
thickness four inches less than providedfor brick walls.Non-bearing walls

may be four (4)inches less than bearing walls,provided no non—bearing
wall is less than twelve (12)inches thick,except reinforced concrete.
[iindows in party walls shall have incombustible frames,and sash glazed
with wired glass.The same applies to roof openings or sky—lights.Doors
in party walls shall be constructed of incombustible material,with steel
frames.Small one-story detached buildings,not exceeding five hundred
(500)Sq.Ft.in area,and warehouses,office or private garage buildings
may have walls four (4)inches less in thickness than outlined in the above
requirements.All cornices or roof projections shall hereafter be con
structed of incombustible material.”
Section 3.That Section 8 of said Ordinance shall be amended
by having the following added thereto:
“It shall be unlawful to pitch tents,temporary stands,counters
or platforms within the fire limits.All awnings within the fire limits
shall be supported by an all metal frame.”

Amendment to Ordinance No.8,entitled,“An Ordinance Establishing
Fire Limits and Concerning Fires and the Prevention Thereof Within Such
Limits and Within the Town of Estes Park”,which Ordinance No.8 was passed
and adopted by the Board of rrustoes of the Town of Estes Park on the 10th
day of September,1917.-
BE IT CRDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF ESTES
PARE,CCLCRADO:
Section 1.That Section 8 of Ordinance No.8 of the Town of
Estes Park,passed and adopted on the 10th day of September,1917,be
and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
“Section 8.All trimmers and trimmer heads shall be at least
one (1)inch clear of any part of any chimney or any flue.All chimneys,
flues,or fireplaces hereafter erected,altered,or rebuilt,shall be built
from the ground level and not on brackets,or other wooden supports,and
shall be constructed of brick,stone,or reinforced concrete.No masonry
chimney shall have walls less than eight (8)inches thick,unless it be
lined on the inside with well burned terra-cotta,or fire clay flue lining,
set in cement mortar,in which case the wall shall not be less than four
(Ii.)inches thick.The lining shall be continuous from six (6)inches
below thimble hole to its extreme height.All chimneys shall project at
least three (3)feet above the point of contact of a flat roof.”
