AN ORDINANCE FOR TIlE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC
UPON THE PUBLIC STRNTS OF THE TOWN OF ESTES
PARK,COLORADO.ADOPTING-BY REFERENCE THE
“MODEL TRAFFIC CODE FOR COLORADO MINICIPALITIES,
1962”.AINDING SECTION 19.1 AND REPEALING
SECTIONS 19.2 THROUGH 19.9 AND SECTION 19.11
THROUGH 19.13 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
TOWN OF E$TES PARK,COLORADO,AND ALL OTHER
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OP ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That the Model Traffic Code for Colorado
Municipalities,1962 issued,published,officially approved
and adopted on September 10,1962 by the Colorado Highway
Safety Council,a division of the Executive Department of
the State Government,under authority vested by the State
General Assembly,at least three copies of which have been
certified as true copies by the Mayor and Clerk of the Town
of Estes Park,Colorado and which are now on file in the
office of the Town Clerk.,is hereby enacted and adopted by
reference and incorporated herein and made a part of the
Municipal Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado as herein
after provided.The said Model Traffic Code is a complete
code which governs the method of operation and equipment of all
motor vehicles and regulates all traffic conditions within
the Town of Estes Park,Colorado.Its prpose is to provide
rules and regulations which are necessary for the public
health and safety and which shall at the same time provide
uniformity of application and interpretation with traffic
regulations in other parts of the state.
Section 2.That the following supplements to the
$ciedules as required by Article XX of the Model Traffic Code
for Colorado Municipalities,1962 are hereby adopted:

Section 3.(a)That it is unlawful for any person
to violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance and such
violations shall be punishable as is hereinafter provided.
(5)Any person who shall be convicted of
a violation oi this Ordinance shall be fined in a sum of not
less than One Dollar ($1.00)nor more than Three Hundred
Dollars ($300.00),or imprisoned for a tern not exceeding ninety
(90)days,for each offense.Where any violation is a con
tinuing offense,each day that the violation continues shall
be considered and held to be a separate and distinct offense.
Section 1j...That Section 19.1 of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado be and the same is hereby
amended to read:
19.1 Model Traffic Code Adopted.There is hereby adopted
and incorporated herein by reference that certain document
known as the “Model Traffic Code for Colorado Municipalities,
1962”,officially approved and adopted on September 10,1962 by
the Colorado Highway Safety Council,a division of the

Executive Department of the State Government,under authority
vested by the State General Assembly,together with all
schedules thereto adopted by Ordinance No.239.
Section 5.That Sections 19.2,19.3,l9.L,19.5,19.6,
19.7,l9.3,19.9,19.11,19.12,19.13 of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,and all ordinances or
parts of ordinances in conflict with or inconsistent with
this ordinance are hereby repealed;except that this repeal
shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of
any person for any act done or committed in violation of any
ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking efct of
this ordinance.
Section 6.The Board of Trustees herewith finds,
determines and designates that this ordinance is necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety for regulation of traffic affects the public health and
safety,and whereas in the opinion of the Board of Trustees
an emergency exists,this ordinance shall take effect and be
in force five (5)days after its final passage,adoption and
public ation.
The above ordinance was passed on second reading and
adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,
Colorado at its regular meeting held on Monday,May 13,1963.

In accordance with the provisions of Section 174 of the Model Traffic
Code for Colorado Municipalities,1962 it is determined that the speeds authorized
by Section 173 of said code shall be decreased or increased as follows:
