ORDINANCE 276
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF TEE
MuNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK,
COLORADO,TEE SAME PERTAINING TO WATER
DEPARTMENT,WATER BILLS,PAYMENT,PENALTY
AND WATER PRESSURE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Section 6.22 of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado be and the same is hereby
amended to read:
6.22 Water Bills -Payment -Penalty.All charges
for water as provided for in this Chapter must be paid
annually in advance at the office of the Town Clerk on the
first day of July of every year.If such charges shall not
be paid on the 20th day of said month,they shall become
delinquent,and if said charges are not paid on or before
the last day of said month,the water may be turned off.
Should the occupant of the premises turn on the water or
cause it to be turned on after it has been shut off at the
curb cock,it will be turned off at the main and a charge
of Ten Dollars ($10.00)plus the cost of labor and material,
as determined by the Town,for turning the water off or on
shall be added to the water bill and collected as a part
thereof.
Section 2.That Chapter 6 of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado be and the same is
hereby amended by adding thereto the following:
6.29 Automatic Pressure Reducing Valves.In that
portion of the water system in which the static water pressure
exceeds 60 pounds per square inch,automatic pressure reducing
valves shall be installed on each service connection which
will reduce the pressure on all water used by such service

to not more than 60 pounds per square inch.The pressure
reducing valves shall be installed so that they can be
easily inspected or adjusted.
Section 3.The Board of Trustees herewith finds,
determines and designates that this ordinance is necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace,health
and safety,and whereas in the opinion of the Board of
Trustees an emergency exists,this ordinance shall take effect
and be in force five (5)days after its final passage,adoption
and publication.
