AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO ELECTRICAL CON
DUCTORS AND EQUIPMENT INSTALLED WITHIN OR
ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE BUILDINGS AND OTHER
PREMISES WIThIN THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK,
COLORADO,INCLUDING YARDS,CARNIVAL AND
PARKING LOTS,AND INDUSTRIAL SUBSTATIONS,
AND ALSO CONDUCTORS THAT CONNECT THE IN
STALLATIONS TO A SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY AND
OTHER OUTSIDE CONDUCTORS ADJACENT TO ThE
PREMISES,AND ALSO MOBILE HONES AND TRAVEL
TRAILERS.ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL CODE,1968 EDITION.AMENDING
SECTION l1.OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
TOWN OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That the National Electrical Code,1968
Edition,NFPA No.70-1968;USAS Cl-1968 (Rev.of Cl-1965),
issued by the National Fire Protection Association of
60 Batterymarch Street,Boston,Massachusetts 02110,at
least three (3)copies of which have been certified as true
copies by the Mayor and Clerk of the Town of Estes Park,
Colorado and which are now on file in the office of the Town
Clerk,is hereby enacted and adopted by reference and in
corporated and made a part of the Municipal Code of the Town
of Estes Park,Colorado as hereinafter provided.The said
National Electrical Code covers the electrical conductors
and equipment installed within or on public and private
buildings and other premises,including yards,carnival and
parking lots,and industrial substations,and also the con
ductors that connect the installations to a supply of elec
tricity,and other outside conductors adjacent to the premises,
and also mobile homes and travel trailers.
Section 2.That Section ll.of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado be and the same is hereby
amended to read:

ll.National Electrical Code Adopted.All electrical
conductors and equipment installed in the Town of Estes
Park,Colorado,within or on public and private buildings
and other premises,including yards,carnival and parking
lots,and industrial substations,and also the conductors
that connect the installations to a supply of electricity,
and other outside conductors adjacent to the premises,and
also mobile homes and travel trailers,shall be installed
in conformity with the requirements of the National
Electrical Code,1968 Edition,NFPA No.70-1968;USAS Cl-1968
(Rev,of Cl-1965),issued by the National Fire Protection
Association of 60 3atterymarch Street,Boston,Massachusetts
02110,which National Electrical Code,is incorporated herein
and adopted by reference.
Section 3.The Board of Trustees herewith finds,
determines and designates that this ordinance is necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace,health
and safety for the regulation of the installation of elec
trical conductors and equipment has a bearing on the public
health and safety,and whereas in the opinion of the Board
of Trustees an emergency exists,this ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five ()days after its final passage,
adoption and publication.
The above ordinance was passed on second reading and
adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,
Colorado at its regular meeting held on Monday,July iLk,1969.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC IIEARING
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of
Trustees of the Tom of Estes Park,Colorado did,on
June 23,1969,pass on first reading Ordinance No.3(j
which enacts and adopts by reference the National Electrical
Code,1968 Edition.
The National Electrical Code,1968 Edition,NFPA
No.70-1968;USAS Cl-1968 (Rev.Cl-1965),issued by the
National Fire Protection Association of 60 Batterymarch
Street,Boston,Massachusetts 02110,is a Code which covers
the electrical conductors and equipment installed within or
on public and private buildings and other premises,includ
ing yards,carnival and parking lots,and industrial sub
stations,and also the conductors that connect the instal
lations to a supply of electricity,and other outside con
ductors adjacent to the premises,and also mobile homes and
travel trailers.The purpose of said Code is the practical
safeguarding of persons and of buildings and their contents
from the hazards arising from the use of electricity for
light,heat,power,radio,signalling and for other purposes.
This Code covers both new and existing construction.
Copies of the National Electrical Code,1968 Edition,
are on file in the office of the Town Clerk and are open to
public inspection at that place.
PUBLIC NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Board of
Trustees has scheduled a public hearing on the question of
whether such Code should be adopted,such hearing to be held
at 7:30 o’clock P.M.on Monday,July lL1,1969,at the Town
Hall in Estes Park,Colorado.Any and all persons interested

concerning the adoption of this Code.
