AN ORDINANCE A1V]ENDING SECTIONS 12.12-2(8)
AND 12.12-2(13)OF THE MLTNICIPAL CODE OF
THE TO OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO,RELATING
TO SIGNS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF IBE TOWN
OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Section 12.12-2(8)of the Municipal
Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,is amended to read
as follows:
12.12-2 (8)Sign Content-Location Limited-Rotating
or Moving Signs.The lettering and advertising matter on
all signs within the Town,except as herein provided,shall
solely deal with and clearly indicate the business done or
services rendered upon the property upon which they are
located,or shall solely deal with and clearly indicate the
business done or services rendered upon property adjacent to
property owned in common upon which such signs are located.
No sign shall be placed upon any vacant or unimproved
property,except that it deal exclusively with the sale,
lease or transfer of such property.
No rotating or moving signs shall be permitted.
No signs shall be permitted in the E-l Estate
District,E—2 Estate District,R-Residence District and
R—l Residence District except:Name plate not exceeding
two (2)square feet in area indicating the name of occupant;
identification signs for churches,physicians,dentists,
artist,musician,and the letting of rooms,not to exceed
six (6)square feet in area;one sign for each property or
subdivision relating to the sale,lease or rental of said
property,not to exceed twelve (12)square feet in area.
Section 2.That Section 12.12-2(13)of the Municipal
Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,is amended to read
as follows:

12.12-2 (13)Directional Signs.Directional signs
of six (6)square feet or less and not exceeding four in
number shall be permitted in addition to the signs permitted
by subsections (2),(3)and (Lv)of this Section;provided,
that they give directions relating solely to the business
done,or the services rendered,upon the property upon which
they are located,or direct the movement of persons or
vehicles solely in relation to such business or service.
All existing directional signs shall comply with
this section before January 1,1979.Signs destroyed by
fire,wind or otherwise,or when more than fifty per cent
(o%)thereof have been destroyed or damaged,as determined
by the Ton1s 3uilding Inspector,shall conform with the
provisions of this section before being reconstructed or
repaired.
Section 3.The Board of Trustees of the Town of
Estes Park herewith finds,determines and designates that
this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace,health and safety,for the regulation
of signs affects the public peace,health and safety,and
whereas in the opinion of the Board of Trustees an emergency
exists,this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
five ()days after its final passage,adoption and
publication.
