AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 13.32.100,
13.32.110,13.32.120 AND 13.32.130 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK,
COLORADO,RELATING TO WATER RATES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN
OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.Sections 13.32.100,13.32.110,13.32.120
and 13.32.130 of the Municipal Code of the Town of Estes Park,
Colorado,are hereby amended to read as follows:
13.32.100 Residential gravity flow water rate sche
dule R-l (urban).Applicability.This schedule is applicable
for water service to consumers within the town limits.
Availability.This schedule is available only for do
mestic use in single-family private dwellings,multi-family
dwellings or apartments to which water can be furnished by the
town’s gravity flow water system.It is not available for
swi;iiming pools,where water is used on a continuous basis,or
where water must be furnished to the property by a town owned
and townmaintained pumped flow water system.
Rate.
For each family dwelling unit $48.00
Where a hose bibb is installed,an addi
tional minimum charge will be made of --6.00
which includes the irrigation of the
first 1,000 square feet or less of
irrigated lot area.
For each 100 square feet of irrigated
lot area in excess of 1,000 square
feet,an additional .30
Charges and Payment.The foregoing schedule is computed
on an annual basis.Payment shall be made in advance on July
1 of each year.Bills for water service are due and payable
within twenty days from date of bill,and shall become delin
quent within thirty days from date of bill.
Contract Period and Conditions.Service under this
schedule shall be for a minimum period of twelve months and

thereafter until terminated.Service may be terminated on
ten days’written notice.
Service under the foregoing schedule is subject to
this code,town ordinances and rules and regulations of the
water department.
Annual Minimum Rates.An annual minimum rate of twen
ty dollars for residential property shall be charged for all
property within the town limits which is connected to the
town’s water system,to which no water has been supplied.No
annual minimum charge shall be made for property disconnected
from the town’s water system.When property is disconnected
from the town’s water system,the tapping charge and water
rights fee provided for in Section 13.32.010 shall be paid
to the town clerk as a reconnection fee before water service
shall be restored to the property.
13.32.110 Commercial gravity and pumped flow water,
and residential pumped flow water rate schedule C-l (urban).
Applicability.This schedule is applicable for water service
to consumers within the town limits.
Availability.This schedule is available for commer
cial,business,industrial,professional and service estalish—
ments,hotels,motels,hospitals,nursing homes,beauty salons,
schools,churches,government facilities,swimming pools,and
all similar uses other than for which the residential gravity
flow water rate schedules apply.This schedule is also avail
able,if desired,for residential consumers.This schedule
must be used by all consumers within the town limits who re
ceive water from a town owned and town maintained pumped flow
water system.

During the summer season of June,July,August and
September,the rate for all water usage in excess of the
minimum is sixty cents per one thousand gallons.During
the remaining eight—month period,the rate in excess of
the minimum usage is forty—two cents per one thousand gal—
ions.
Payment.Bills for water service will be rendered
on or about October 1 for the summer season of four months,
and on or about June 1 for the eight—month off—season per
iod after the summer season,and shall be due and payable
within twenty days from date of bill.Bills shall become
delinquent within thirty days from date of bill.
Contract Period and Conditions.Service under this
schedule shall be for a minimum period of twelve months and
thereafter until terminated.Service may be terminated on
ten days’written notice.
Service under the foregoing schedule is subject to
this code,town ordinances and rules and regulations of the
water department.

half the metered minimum bill for commercial property shall
be charged for all property within the town limits which is
connected to the town’s water system to which no water has
been supplied.When property is disconnected from the town’s
water system,the tapping charge and water rights fee provided
for in Section 13.32.010 shall be paid to the town clerk as a
reconnection fee before water service shall be restored to the
property.
Additional Pumped Flow Rates.In addition to the above
rates,all consumers within the town limits who are connected
to a town owned and town maintained pumped flow water system
shall be charged the following additional sums:An annual mini
mum charge of thirty and 70/100 dollars,and five cents per

one thousand gallons of water used in excess of the above—
provided—for minimum usages.
13.32.120 Residential gravity flow water rate sche
dule R-2 (rural).Applicability.This schedule is applica
ble for water service to residential consumers outside the
town limits.
Availability.This schedule is available only for
domestic use in single-family private dwellings,multi-family
dwellings or apartments to which water can be furnished by
the town’s gravity flow water system.It is not available for
swimming pools,where water is used on a continuous basis,or
where water must be furnished to the property by a town owned
and town maintained pumped flow water system.
Rate.
For each family dwelling unit $84.00

lot area in excess of 1,000 square

Applicability.This schedule is applicable for water service
to consumers outside the town limits.
Availability.This schedule is available for commer
cial,business,industrial,professional and service establish
ments,hotels,motels,hospitals,nursing homes,beauty salons,
schools,churches,government facilities,swimming poois and
all similar uses other than for which the residential gravity
flow water rate schedules apply.This schedule is also avail
able,if desired,for residential consumers.This schedule
must be used by all consumers outside the town limits who re
ceive water from a town owned and town maintained pumped flow
water system.

Section 2.The board of trustees of the town of Estes
Park,Colorado,herewith finds,determines and designates that
this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public peace,health and safety,for water rates affect the

public peace,health and safety;and whereas,in the opinion
of the board of trustees,an emergency exists,this ordinance
shall take effect and be in force five (5)days after its
final passage,adoption and publication.
