Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the 13th day of August , A. D. 19.9.. at regular meeting hour. Meeting called to order by Mayor H. Bernerd Dannels Present: Mayor H. B. Dannel S Trustees: Also Present: Ass ' t . Town Admin. Widmer, Town Clerk O'Connor Absent: Town Attorney White Norbert L. Aldrich, David Barker, Milan A. Dickinson, Polly Garrett, David Habecker, George J. Hix Mayor Dannels called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. CONSENT CALENDAR: 1. Approval of Town Board minutes dated July 23, 1991. 2. Bills. It was moved and seconded (Hix/Aldrich) the consent calendar be approved, and it passed unanimously. ACTION ITEMS. 1.A. Minutes of the Public Safety Committee meeting held July 25, 1991 were read, and it was moved and seconded (Garrett/Aldrich) the minutes be approved, and it passed unanimously. B. Minutes of the Light and Power Committee meeting held August 1, 1991 were read, and it was moved and seconded (Aldrich/Hix) the minutes be approved, and it passed unanimously. 1. Resolution #17-91. Clerk O'Connor read a resolution designating October 6-12, 1991 as Public Power Week, and it was moved and seconded (Aldrich/Hix) the resolution be adopted, and it passed unanimously. C. Minutes of the Community Development Committee meeting were read, and it was moved and seconded (Barker/Garrett) the minutes be approved, and it passed unanimously. D. Minutes of the Stanley Park Committee meeting were read, and it was moved and seconded (Hix/Habecker) the minutes be approved, and it passed unanimously. Trustee Habecker commented on the landscaping requirement for new development and whether it applies to Town property. 2. Liquor License. Mayor Dannels opened a public hearing to consider a new Hotel and Restaurant license filed by Tamashiro Enterprise, Inc., dba TAMAKI'S OF ESTES, 457 E. Wonderview Ave., #D-5 (includes extended hours). Laurel Tamashiro (owner) stated that they (the owners) have been in the restaurant business a number of years, they will act responsibly, and will not abuse their liquor license. Japanese cuisine, including sushi, will be featured. Nancy Sweck, business associate, commented that the Tamashiro's will be a great asset to Estes Park. As there were no Board of Trustees - August 13, 1991 - Page 2 persons speaking in "opposition" to the license, Mayor Dannels declared the public hearing closed. Trustee Aldrich stated that the Board of Trustees finds that the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood are not met by the present liquor outlets in the neighborhood and that the desires of the adult inhabitants are for the granting of this liquor license, and moved the new Hotel and Restaurant Liquor License filed by Tamashiro Ent., Inc. be approved. Trustee Hix seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 3. Clerk O'Connor presented an Election Report which identified total expenses of $1,232.00± on the special election held August 6, 1991. Following completion of all agenda items, Mayor Dannels requested comments from the audience. Lou Canaiy expressed his appreciation in receiving his invitation to the Grand Opening Celebration for the Conference Center, and urged the community to support Sales and Marketing Director Pickering. There being no further business, Mayor Dannels adjourned the meeting at 8:00 P.M. Mayor Town Clerk
