Meeting called to order by Mayor May 9 , 19 89 meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park Na' , A. D. 19.q?. at regular meeting H. Bernerd Dannels Present: Mayor H. B. Dannels Trustees: Also Present: Gary F. Klaphake, Town Administrator Gregory A. White, Town Attorney Vickie O'Connor, Town Clerk Norbert L. Aldrich, David Barker, Milan A. Dickinson, Polly Garrett, David Habecker, George J. Hix Mayor Dannels called the meeting of the Board of Trustees to order at 7:30 P.M. MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT DAY: Mayor Dannels presented Appointment Certificates to participating students of the Park High School senior class and expressed the hope they would someday seek elective or accept appointive offices in community service. CONSENT CALENDAR: 1. 2. 3.A. Town Board minutes dated April 25, 1989. Bills. Sgt. Pepperwood's, Beer and Wine License, 101 West Elkhorn Avenue - Renewal. Trustee Hix moved the consent calendar be approved. Trustee Aldrich seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. ACTION ITEMS: 1.A. Minutes of were read. bid should minutes be motion and the May 4, 1989 Light and Power Committee Director Dekker noted Basset & Associates read $426,001. Trustee Hix moved the approved. Mayor Dannels opened a public hearing for Special Review #89-1 Mountain Fairway Condominiums, Bill MacKinnon/applicant (continued from April 25, 1989). Mayor Dannels stated that, although this is an amendment to an approved plan, special review is required due to the setbacks from Matthew Circle. Paul Kochevar/Estes Park Surveyors, representing applicant, noted the amended plat reflects conditions required by the Planning Commission. There being no persons speaking in "opposition to" the application, Mayor Dannels declared the public hearing closed. Trustee Barker moved Special Review #89-1 be approved. Trustee Garrett seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Board of Trustees - May 9, 1989 - Page two 3. Presentation of Ordinances and setting of public hearing dates for adoption of 1988 Building Codes. Attorney White requested and Trustee Hix moved the Board acknowledge presentation of these ordinances and set a public hearing for June 13, 1989. Trustee Barker seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 4. 75th Anniversary - Rocky Mountain National Park. Trustee Hix referred to his May 9, 1989 memo to Mayor Dannels, containing Estes Park's activities for the 75th Anniversary of Rocky Mountain National Park. Steering Committee member Hix, along with Ed Jungbiuth, Gary Klaphake, and the Advertising Committee assisted in the planning of Estes Parks participation in the. 75th Anniversary Celebration. Town Administrator Klaphake stated an official logo has been adopted by RMNP and Chamber Director Jungbluth modeled a T-shirt bearing the logo. Town Administrator Klaphake noted one fundraiser is scheduled using $2,500 budgeted funds to purchase and sell 75th Anniversary posters. It is expected these posters will net a $5,000 return. Trustee Garrett moved to include items submitted in Trustee Hix's memo with the option of future amendments. Trustee Aldrich seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Following completion of all agenda items, Mayor Dannels requested comments from the audience. Park High School senior Quintin Wedan spoke on behalf of Municipal Government Day participating seniors, thanking the service organizations and all involved in preparing this event. He stated the students learned a lot and it was interesting to observe government at work. He expressed the hope that Municipal Government Day would continue in the future, as this is an opportunity for students to see democracy in its purest form. There being no further business, Mayor Dannels adjourned the meeting at 8:10 P.M. Mayor Secretary
