Minutes of a regular
Park, Lorimer County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park
on the llth day of April , A. D. 19.89. at regular meeting
hour.

Mayor Dannels called the meeting of the
order at 7:32 P.M.

CONSENT CALENDAR:
1. Town Board minutes dated March 28, 1989.
2. Bills.
3.A. Spur 66 Liquor Store, Retail Liquor Store License,
National Park Village South - Renewal.
4. Board of Adjustment minutes dated March 30, 1989.
Trustee Aldrich moved the consent calendar be approved. Trustee
Barker seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
ACTION ITEMS:
1.A. Minutes of the Light and Power Committee meeting held
April 6, 1989 were read. Trustee Hix moved the
minutes be approved. Trustee Aldrich seconded the
motion and it passed unanimously.
1.B. Minutes of the Community Development Committee meeting
held April 11, 1989 were read. Trustee Dickinson
moved the minutes be approved. Commending the Town
Clerk in providing the minutes in such a timely
fashion, Trustee Garrett seconded the motion and it
passed unanimously.
2.A. Ordinance 3-89. Trustee Aldrich introduced, and Town
Attorney White read in full, the following ordinance,
and moved it be passed and adopted: "AN ORDINANCE TO
APPLY AND CONTRACT FOR BENEFICIAL USE OF WATER ON
BEHALF OF THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK, A MUNICIPAL CORPO-
RATION, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS FOR APPLICATION FOR
AN ALLOTMENT OF WATER TO SAID TOWN OF ESTES PARK BY
NORTHERN COLORADO WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT."
Trustee Barker seconded the motion and it passed by
the following votes: Those voting "Yes" Trustees
Aldrich, Barker, Dickinson, Garrett, Habecker, and Hix
Those voting "No" none. Whereupon Mayor Dannels
declared said ordinance duly passed and adopted and
ordered it numbered 3-89 and published according to
law.

2.8. In conjunction with Ordinance 3-89, Trustee Barker
moved the Mayor be, authorized to execute the "Applica-
tion for Cancellation of Temporary Use Permit."
Trustee Aldrich seconded the motion and it passed
unanimously.
CORRESPONDENCE/INFORMATIONAL ITEMS:
1. Town Administrator Klaphake reported a $200 bequest
was given by the Estate of Ella. Marie Lehman
($100/Fire Department, and $100/Museum). An addition-
al $1,000 was given to the Museum. to commission a
Long's Peak painting. Trustee. Hix moved the Town
accept the bequest, directing staff to, when the money
is expended, to advise the Estateexactly what
tangible item was obtained. Trustee Garrett seconded
the motion and it passed unanimously. The Town will
also submit a letter to the Estate expressing the
Town's gratitude for the bequest.
2. A letter received from Mary Pat Wilson, Deputy Direc-
tor/Winter Games Committee, was read in full. Ms.
Wilson expressed the Committee's appreciation to the
Town for their support demonstrated .in the adoption of
Resolution 10-89 (1998 Olympic Proposal).
3. Town Attorney White reported the Superior Metropolitan
District did make its payment of approximately
$733,000 April 3, 1989 to the Northern Colorado Water
Conservancy District_
4. Lou Canaiy suggested the Town investigate pari-mutuel
betting via satellite which is currently being
promoted in California.
5. Jane McGillicuddy commented on (1) the excessive
amount of pornography found in Estes Park, and (2) the
need for students to have a youth center. Mayor
Dannels requested Ms. McGillicuddy discuss these
concerns with Town Administrator Klaphake.
6. Mayor Dannels congratulated. Trustee Garrett who was
celebrating one year on the Board of Trustees.
There being no further business, Mayor Dannels adjourned the
meeting at 7:57 P.M.
