Graves., Present: MayorClarence A. Graves Trustees: Ronald Brodie, Henry Dannels, William Grove, John Ramey, Richard Snart Also Present: Dale G. Hill, Town Clerk Absent: Trustee, Carl Swanson Minutes of the regular meeting held on May 27, 1963 and the special meeting held on June 4, 1963 read and approved as read. Trustee John Ramey introduced the following Resolution and moved that it be passed and adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, dangerous and undesirable conditions exist on Hanford Avenue, beginning at the East line of South Saint Vrain Avenue and running Easterly to the beginning of the present curb -gutter of the Estes Park School, because of the greatly increased traffic on said Street resulting from the use of the new high school located thereon, and WHEREAS, said conditions will continue and will cause damage to said street and possible injury or death to persons using the same unless it is hard -surfaced immediately, and WHEREAS, funds for such hard -surfacing were not provided in the budget for the year of 1963, and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees believes an emergency exists which could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the adoption of the budget for the year of 1963, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK: That the sum of $7,660.00 be expended for the hard -surfacing of Manford Avenue, beginning at the East line of South Saint Vrain Avenue and running Easterly to the beginning of the curb -gutter of the Estes Park School, and that such sum be expended from funds available in the Public Buildings portion of the General Fund. Trustee William Grove seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion passed by the following votes. Those voting "Yes" Trustees Ronald Brodie, Henry Dannels, William Grove and John Ramey. Those voting "No" none. Trustee Henry Darnels moved that the following bills be allowed and paid and the Clerk be authorized to draw warrants for same. (A certified copy of the bills read and allowed are on file in the office of the Town Clerk under this date and made a part of the record of these proceedings by reference thereto.) D. 19_63 at regular meeting hour. Meeting called to order by Mayor Clarence A. Graves Present: Mayor Trustees: Also Present: Absent: Trustee Henry Dannels introduced the following entitled Ordinance and moved that it be passed and adopted on second reading: ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE MUNICIPAL WATER DEPARTMENT OF THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK, COLORADO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1963 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1964. Trustee William Grove seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion passed by the following votes. Those voting "Yes" Trustees Ronald Brodie, Henry Dannels, William Grove and John Ramey. Those voting "No" none. Whereupon Mayor Clarence Graves declared said Ordinance duly passed and adopted and ordered it numbered 240 and published according to law. Trustee William Grove, Chairman of the Building Code Committee, informed the Board of Trustees that the Uniform Building Code and the Uniform Electric Code was out of date. Trustee William Grove recommended these two codes be brought up to date. Trustee Richard Snart moved the attorney be instructed to draw the necessary Ordinances adopting the 1961 Uniform Building Code and the 1962 Uniform Electric Code. Trustee William Grove seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion passed by the following votes. Those voting "Yes" Trustees Ronald Brodie, Henry Dannels, William Grove, John Ramey and Richard Snart. Those voting "No" none. Trustee Richard Snart, Fire Commissioner, informed the Board of Trustees the Fire Department wishes to have the room now being used as a courtroom for the purpose of placing another piece of fire apparatus. After considerable discussion, Fire Commissioner Snart was asked by the Trustees to delay this move until this winter. Mr. Lou Canaiy requested the Town of Estes Park write letters asking for the removal of signs on Highway 66 south of Estes Park. The Clerk was instructed to clear this matter with the Town Attorney.
