Clark Abeent: Mayor Clarence A- Graves Minutes of the Special meeting held on March 11, 1959 read and approved as read. The Clerk read the minutes of the regular meeting of the Estes Park Planning Cornodsaion relating to a public hearing held and the Commissions recommendation in favor of re -zoning Lots 21 and 22 of lake View Tracts from. Residence District to Restricted Commercial. District. Trustee Snart moved that the Zoning Ordinance be amended to include the above lots in a Restricted. Commercial. District. Trustee Grove seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried. From the minutes of the Planning Commission, the Clerk also read the recommendation y'the"COmmiesion following a public hearing zone the Fort Morgan Subdivision as a Residence Dietrict. Trustee Dannels moved that the Ordinance be. amended in accordance with the above recommendation. Trustee Raney seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously. carried. After reviewing the present y-laws of the Estes Park Golf and Country Club Corporation and with. the advice of the Town Attorney, Trustee. Brodie moved that Mayor Graves be authorized to si a request for a, stockholders meeting of the corporation for the purpose of amsoding the by --laws and electing a Board. of Directors. Trustee Snart seconded the motion. Uperrroll call said. motiOn un- animously carried. Trustee Grove reported on. the regular meeting of the Light and Power Committee as itemized in their minutes of March 16, 1.959. Trustee Brodie moved that the minuted be accepted and that the department be authorized to purchase 16 new street light poles and fixtures at an estimated cost of $450,SI each. Trustee Bannels seconded the motion, Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried. Mayor Pro Tem Charles Herzog presented a sketch furnished him by. the Department of Highways showing a proposed. overheadsigns to be installed by the department together with si.lais and parkin1 restrictions relating to Elkhorn Avenue and the U.S. #34. By"pass. Trustee Dannele rsoved that the proposal be approved pro- viding a. request be made to the department to reduce the size of the signs. Trustee Grove seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried. A Committee of four men representing the Colorado Arabian Horse Association appeared before the Board, together with representatives of the Estes Park Rodeo Association, The Committee explained that they were under contract to conduct the National Arabian Horse Show in Estes Park. for the next four years and that it would be necessaryto construct a minimum of 30 new stalls together with a minimum of 18 "tack" roome at Stanley Park for the coming season. A general. discussion followed. regarding the possible financing of the improvements. Representatives of the Rodeo Association stated that in. their opinion the additional. stalls are more essential than the improvement of the rodeo chutes at this time. Representatives of the Arabian Association stated that, they would ask their association to contribute $1,000 toward the proposed improvements. Members, of the Town.
