Minutes of a Speci al
meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes
Park, Larimer County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of
Estes Park on the 1st day of_ June , A. D. 19_59_ at regular
meeting hour.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Clarence A. Graves
Present: Mayor Clarence A. Graves Trustees: Ronald Brodie, Henry Dannels,
WilliGrove, Charles Herzog,
John Ramey, Richard Snart
Also Present: Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk
Absent:
None
Mayor Graves opened the meeting and stated that in accordance with an
application filed with the Board on May 11, the Board would proceed to
consider the application of Gordon R. Johnson for a restaurant liquor
license at 110 West Elkhorn Avenue.
The Clerk reported that one letter of objection had been filed by the
Estes Park Community Church. The applicant together with Mr. Ray Baptie,
Attorney at Law, spoke in favor of granting the license. Mr. Charles Miller
former licensee and property owner spoke in favor of the license. There
were no persons present to oppose the license. The Board conducted a dis-
cussion with the applicant after which Trustee Dannels moved that the ap-
plication be approved and granted. Trustee Brodie seconded the motion.
Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those voting "Yes"
and in favor of granting the license Trustees Brodie, Dannels, Grove, Herzog,
Ramey and. Snart. Those voting "No" none.
Mr. Richard J. Mangelsen together with Mr. H. F. Miller, Attorney at Law,
appeared before the Board and filed an application to transfer ownership of
the Sage Bar located at 114 West Elkhorn Avenue from the present owner,
Mr. Laurence Friedlan to Richard J. Mangelsen. The application was ac-
companied by a letter from Mr. Friedlan stating that in the event the
application or transfer was approved, he had no further interest in the
license. Mayor Graves announced that according to policy, the application
would be acted on at the regular meeting to be held on June 8.
The Clerk read a letter from Ray K. Scheerer, Larimer County Sheriff asking
recommendation for the position of Deputy Sheriff to replace Everett May
who had resigned. Trustee Herzog moved that W. J. Harbaugh be recommended
for the appointment. Trustee Ramey seconded the motion. Upon roll call
said motion unanimously carried.
There being no further business, it was regularly moved, seconded and carried
that the meeting adjourn.
