Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Fates
Park, Larimer County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of
_ Estes Park on the 25th day of may,A. D. 1959__ at regular
meeting hour.

Present: Mayor Clarence A. Graves Trustees: Ronald Brodie, Henry Dannels,

John Ramey, Richard Snart
Also Present: Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk
Absent: None
Minutes of the regular meeting held on May 11, 1959 read and approved as read.
The Clerk read a letter from Hensel Phelps Construction Company addrdssed to
Phillips -Carter -Osborn, Inc., dated May 18, 1959 asking for a thirteen day
extension on their contract for the construction of the Fall River Water Treat-
ment Plant. The Clerk also read a letter from Phillips -Carter -Osborn, Inc.,
to the Town of Estes Park regarding the above request.
The Board discussed in detail the progress made by the contractor from the
time construction started to date. After analyzing the progress made, Trustee
Dannels moved that the application for extension of time be denied and that
the contractor and the Town Engineers be notified that the Town will enforce
the provisions of the contract in accordance with Part 3, Page 3. Trustee
Snart seconded the motion. The vote being that the request for extension
6C-time On'the contract be "denied; the roll was called with the following
result: Those voting "Yes" Trustees Dannels, y and Snart. Those voting
"No" Trustees Brodie, Grove and Herzog. The Clerk polled the roll call,
declared the vote to be a tie and asked Mayor Graves to cast the decided
vote. Mayor Graves voted "Yes". "' " PON the Clerk declared the motion
carried and the request for extension denied.
The Clerk presented an application for a 3.2% beer license su.4.'tted by
Kenneth B. and Margaret L. Cook for the General Store at 240 Moraine Drive;
stated that legal publication had been complied with, that there were no
persons present to be heard and that one letter had been received opposing
the application signed by the council of the Comunity Church. Following
a discussion, Trustee Ramey moved that the application be denied. Trustee
Grove seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried.
The Clerk read a letter submitted by Joel Bacon asking consideration for
insurance on the Fall River Water Treatment Plant. The letter was referred
to Trustee Charles Herzog.
A resolution was read to the Board by the Estes Park P.T.A. asking that
necessary measures be taken to control dogs running at large. The Clerk
reported that the Town Attorney was preparing such an ordinance and that
it would be su.m'tted for consideration at the next regular meeting. The
Clerk reported that the Mayor and the Clerk and Mr. Janes Wilson had agreed
to a mo. 'led contract for the construction of two new barns at Stanley Park.
The Board reviewed the existing Fire Zone No. 1 of the Town. Following the
review, Trustee Herzog moved that an ordinance be prepared to include the
following additional properties within the fire zone: Lots 15 to 20 in-
clusive of Riverside Subdivision; all the property within the Lee and Alps
Addition and Lot 12 of Moccasin Addition. Trustee Dannels seconded the
motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried.
Trustee Brodie reported on the monthly meeting of the Light & Power C.mn ttee
and moved that the department be authorized to ask for bids for the purchase
of 1 feet of 30 inch steel pipe for replac.A,ent at the power plant penstock.
Trustee Grove seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously
carried.

Trustee Herzog made re o endatione for additional parking signs along Wiest
Drive.
Mayor Graves reported that he had met with Highway Department officials re-
garding parking restrictions along Devils Gulch Road.
There being no further business, it was regularly moved, seconded and carried
that the meeting adjourn.
