County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the
day of May , A. D. 19.7.. at regular meeting hour.

Present: Mayor Trustees: N.L. Bartlett, Ronald
Brodie, Henry Dannels, Charles Herzog, John Ramey, Richard Snart.
Also Present: Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk
Absent: Mayor, Clarence A. Graves.
Minutes of the regular meeting held on May 13, and the special meeting
held on May 20th, read and approved as read.
Mr. James Burrows appeard before the Board and ask why the Board had
denied a permit to placea buggy on the roof of his place of business
as a sign -attraction. Mayor Pro-tem Herzog stated that the proposal
was irregular and not in accordance with the intent of the Ordinance.
Mr. Fred Samuelson appeared and, stated that the drainage ditch along
the street in front of his house made it difficult for access to the
property. Trustee Bartlett informed him that the ditch was essential
for drainage, and that if he would purchase a culvert, the Town would
install it and maintain it.
Mr. Harry Grief and Mrs. Russell Millett appeared before the Board and
stated that the present Ordinance prohibited their house trailers from
being parked at their residence for "dead storage" purposes, and that
they had been there prior to the passage of the Ordinance, and ask that
they be permitted to remain. Following discussion, Trustee Snart moved
that the Ordinance be interpreted to allow a house trailer to be parked
on the owners property providing it is not occupied. Trustee Ramey
seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried.
Mrs. Schultz and Mr. Menard appeared and ask permission to erect a
cottage advertising sign on a vacant lot on Virginia Drive. The Board
stated that this was not in accordance with the Ordinance, but ex-
plained that standard highway signs reading "cottage area" would be
posted at the main intersections for directional purposes.
Mr. Joe Caulfield appeared and filed a petition, signed by the business
operators at the East end of Elkhorn Ave. requesting action to be
taken to prevent future floods on the street in the area, that had
damaged their property in the past. The Board instructed the Clerk
to contact the Highway Department in an attempt to agree upon a sol-
ution to the problem.
Mr. Ken Whipperman and Mr. Roland Sutter appeared and stated that in
the event the Board considered amending the present gasoline transport
Ordinance, that they were definitly opposed to any change.
The Clerk read a letter from the Bear Lake Road Association, objecting
to the fees charged by the Town for the use of the city dump%. The
Board stated that in their opinion the fees were equitable and would
remain in effect for this year.
Application having been made, Trustee Dannels moved that a permit be
issued to The American Legion Poet for a public fire works display on
July 4th of this year. Trustee Bartlett seconded the motion. Upon
roll call said motion unanimously carried.
The Clerk reported that the Board had previously approved water service
to the following areas because of existing agreements, Hondius sub -division,
Charles Heights, Far View acres, Stanley A, and Broadv,4y, and ask if
applications for service in these areas should be approved individually
by the Board. The Board stated that applications for normal residence
service in these areas should be issued without special approval.

The Clerk read a letter from Mr. Richard. Stat :fl, explaining that
the County Commissioners were about to vacate title to the Pole
Hill road, off of highway No. 66, and the road was to be closed
to the public. Trustee Darnels moved that the Commissioners be
notified that the Town Board opposed such a move, in the beat
interests of the community. Trustee R:40ey seconded the motion.
Upon roll call said motion unanimously carried.
Trustee Brodie reported on the monthly
Power Committee.
