Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park, Larimer 10th County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the. day of August , A. D. 19 53 at regular meeting hour. Meeting called to order by Mayor Clarence A. Graves Present: mayorClarence A. Graves Trustees: G.E. Casey, Henry Dannele, Charles L. Herzog, Bert J. McConnell, Jess Poling, George H. Watson. Also Present: Lee H. Tallant, Supt. of Works Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk Minutes of the regular meeting held on July 27, read and approved. Trustee Watson moved. that the following bills be allowed and paid and that the Clerk be authorized to draw warrants for same: Trustee Poling seconded the motion: Light & Power Dept. power 208.56 Estee Park Signs, services 37.50 Estes Park Plumbers, services 10.95 Jess Poling, supplies 69.00 Bert McConnell, fees 2.00 Band Box Cleaners, service 2.50 Geo. Sanitary Speoialties Co. supplies 8.44 Estes Park Trail, printing 52.72 Conoco Service Station, service 3.36 Mobil Service Station, service 7.30 Stoneman Chevrolet Co. service 19.51 Liberty Truck & Parts, supplies 24.22 Estee Park Hardware, supplies 32.06 Armco Metal Products, supplies 37.30 Estes Park Garage, service 23.67 Western Oxygen Co. supplies 32.55 Ray H Bradshaw, premium 136.01 Wages & salaries 3,953.24 Water Dept. operating expenses 1,478.79 Light & Power, operating expenses 13,245.80 Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those voting "Yee" Trustees Casey, Dannele, Herzog, McConnell, Poling and Watson. "No" None. The Mayor and the Board discussed the fact that the local garbage pick up system was entirely unsatisfactory and that some different system would have to be devised for the future. Trustee McConnell, Chairman of the Water Committee, reported that the committee had met on August 6th, with Mr. Ted L. Sundquist and Mr. Byron L. Miller of the Bureau of Reclamation, regarding the proposed development of Bureau water, by the Town for domestic use. The Bureau offioials stated that water would be available in 1954, under the 1939 contract, and that the Bureau would be willing to negotiate a lease with the Town for the use of land for the construction of a water headworks plant. Trustee Poling, Chairman of the Street & Alley Committee, reported that the committee had talked with the Sterling Send & Gravel Co. in Fort Collins, asking them to do certain street oiling, but was un- able to get a reply and that apparently they were not in a position to contract for the work. Also that Larimer County plane to mix a limited amount of street oil mix for the Town. The Board discussed the possibility of purchasing a small hot mix plant and authorized the committee to investigate accordingly. Meeting called to order by Mayor Present: Mayor Trustees: Mayor Graves, with the approval of the Boar&, and in accortance with Ordinance No. 112, declare& that all truck stops, loaiing, and unloading, on Elkhorn Avenue, is hereby prohibited after the hour of 2:00 P.M ant until the hour of 4:00 A.M. The Clerk reporte& that there was a possibility of the Bureau of Public Roats excavating the Town parking lot,opposite Wiest Drive in return for the excavate& material. The Boar decitet that the dirt was worth more to the Town than the excavation ant should be kept for Town use. There being no further business to come before the Board, it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting a journ. Attest:
