Meeting called to order by Mayor Ronald C. Brodie
Present: Mayor Ronald C. Brodie Trustees: G.E. Casey,
Cha.e Herzog, Jess Poling, Geo. Watson.
Also Present: Lee H. Tallant, Supt. of Works
Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk
Absent: Trustee Merl Morehead.

Minutes of the regular meeting held on Oct. 22nd read and approved.
Trustee Casey moved that the follwoing bills be allowed and paid,
and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same:

Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those
voting "Yes" Trustees Casey, Graves, Herzog, Poling and Watson.
Those voting "No" None.
The Street & Alley committee, Trustees Poling and Watson, reported
that they had met and inspected the street West of Mrs. C.B. Halls
property, in connection with her application for the installation
of a sidewalk. The committee found that the public would benefit
by the installation and had approved the permit.
The application of John A. Murphy Jr. and Beth E. Murphy for a
Retail Liquor Store License having been advertised according to law,
Mr. John A. Murphy Sr. appeared before the Board and spoke, supporting
the approval of the application. The Clerk read letters opposing
the granting of the license signed by Gordon C. Hutchings, Leo F.
Tighe, Bert J. McConnell, E.R. Smith, and Karl Q. Anderson by
Theron Tibbetts. Mr. E.R. Smith appeared and spoke against the
granting of the license. Following a long, detailed, discussion of
all issues involved, Trustee Graves Moved that the application be
rejected. Trustee Watson seconded the motion. Upon roll call said
motion carried and said application was rejected by the following
vote: Those voting "Yes" and in favor of rejecting, Trustees
Graves, Herzog, and Watson. Those voting "No" and not in favor of
rejecting, Trustees Casey and Poling.
The Clerk presented the applications of E.R. Smith and Evetett R.
Anderson for renewal of Retail Liquor Store licensee. Trustee
Herzog moved that they be approved. Trustee Casey seconded the
motion. Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote:
Those voting "Yee" Trustees Casey, Graves, Herzog, Poling and Watson.
Those voting "No" none.
Trustee Graves reported that he had been asked by two local

Present: Mayor Trustees:
individuals to secure an expression from the Board on the poss-
ibility of the Town issuing a liquor license, restaurant, on the
plot of ground just West of the entrance to the Stanley Hotel on
Elkhorn Avenue, providing a substantial investment would be made
in a building and furnishings. The Board expressed an opinion
that they would not be in favor of issuing an additional liquor
license and especially in the proposed location.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting adjourned at 6:30 P.M.
