meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park, Larimer
County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the, 8.th
day of October , A. D. 19 51 at regular meeting hour.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Ronald C. Brodie
Present: Mayor Ronald C. Brodie Trustees. G.E. Casey, C.A. Lrraves
Chas. L. Herzog, Merl Morehead, Jess Poling and Geo. H. Watson.
Also Present: Lee H. Talla.nt, Supt. of Works
Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk
Absent: None.
Minutes of the regular meeting held on September 24th, read and
approved as read.
Trustee Morehead moved that the following bills be allowed and
paid and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for game:
Trustee Casey seconded the motion:

The Texas Company, Fuel oil 88.32
Light & Power Dept., service 206.10

Conoco Service Station, supplies 65.99

Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those
voting "Yes" Trustees, Casey, Graves, Herzog, Morehead, Poling and
Watson. Those voting "No" none.
Mr. E.E. Altick appeared before the Board, representing the Civic
Improvement Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Altick brought
the following items to the attention of the Board and ask that they
be investigated and improved upon: Possible fire hazard at the Rustic
Theater and the Estes Park Schools, hardship imposed on the merchants
by the present Ordinance prohibiting the knaalfr>kgg burning of trash
within the fire zone, radio interference, summer traffic congestion
on main street and the undersireable present location of the post -
office. All items were discussed with the Board agreeing to make any
possible improvements.
The Board approved Mayor Brodie's suggestion that Lee Tallant get a
Denver Commercial Supply house Engineer to estimate the cost and
probablity of covering the river back of the post -office and making
it into street and parking facilities.
Fire Commissioner Merl Morehead was instructed to make an inspection
of all commercial establishments and order all excess trash etc,
hauled to the dump, and to publicize next week as Fire Prevention Week.

Present: Mayor Trustees:
Followtng a detail discussion by the Board of the Town's General
Fund finances, ways and means of acquiring revenue for the coming
year, Trustee Poling introduced the following Resolution and moved
that it be ppssed and adopted:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Board of Trustees of The Town of
Estes Perk, Colorado, to make the annual levy to pay the expenses of
the Town Government for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1952;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF ESTES P.,", that there is hereby levied on all the taxable
property within. the corporate limits, for the fiscal year beginning
January 1, 1952, and ending December 31, 1952, (the same being based
on the assessed,valuation made in the year 19,51 and to be collected
in the year 1952) a total levy for all purposes of Twenty -One (21)
mills on each dollar of assessed valuation of said property.
Trustee, Graves aeconded the motion. Upon roll call said Resolution
was duly passed,and adopted by the following vote: Those voting
"Yes" Trustees Csaey, Graves, Herzog, Morehead, Poling and Watson.
Those voting "No" none.
Trustee Watson gave a report of the finances and actions of the
Light & Power Comittee.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, it
was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn.
