Brodie Trustees: G.E. Casey, C.L. Herzog, Merl Morehead, M.J. Poling, George H. Watson. Also Present: Lee H. Talla.nt, Supt. of Works Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk. Absent: Trustee C.A. Graves. Minutes of the regular meeting held on May 22nd, read and approved as read. Trustee Watson moved that the following bills be allowed and paid, and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same: Trustee Casey seconded the motion: Bill Brown, services $ 50.00 Hendrie & Bolthoff, supplies 270.09 E.F. Those voting "No" none. The question of sanitation inspections was again brought to the attention of the Board. Following the discussion Trustee Watson moved that George Lambert be appointed Town Sanitation Inspector with full authority of the Health Officer, at a monthly salary of Twenty Dollars. Trustee Morehead seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those voting "Yes" Trustees Casey, Herzog, Morhhead, Poling and Watson. Those voting "No" none. The Clerk reported that he had beeacooiaxZ talked with Mrs. Elsie Hix, Chairman of the Library Committee of The Estee Park Woman's Club, re- garding the inetallation of the new heating system for the Library. Mrs. Hix stated that since The Estes Park Plumbers had done consider- able work and engineering over a two year period, on this proposed system, and sincer the Woman's Club were contributing $ 2,000.00 to- ward the project, the Committee recommended that the work be done by The Estes Park Plumbers, on a cost plus basis. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the day of , A. D. 19 at regular meeting hour. Meeting called to order by Mayor _--- --. Present: Mayor Trustees: that The Estes Park Plumbers be authorized to proceed with the installa- tion on a cost plus basis. Trustee Watson seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those voting "Yes" Trustees Casey, Herzog, Morehead, Poling and Watson. Those voting "No" None. Until such time that the Town could purchase a vehicle for the use of Leon Sweetland of the Light & Power Dept., the Board authorized the payment of 7A cents per mile, for miles used by his personal car on Town business. A request from the Kiwanis clubs of near -by Towns to construct a 10 ft. sign on Town property alsong U.S. highway 34, was rejected, due to the possibility of additional requests. The question of the use of mobile loud speakers within the Town was brought to the attention of the Board. Following a detail discussion the Board adopted the following policy: By advance request, a community nonprofit organization, sponsering a special event, will be given a police escort, and permitted to use a loud -speaker while driving from one end of the main street to the other and return, with no stops to be made. Those caravans, or units, having personel for entertainment, will be permitted to use the Town Park, together. with a loud -speaker, for a period not to exceed one hour. Mr. Michael Mardin, President, and Mr. Richard Degenhardt, Secretary, of The Estes Park Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the Board, and stated that an anonymous donor had pledged sufficient funds to con- struct a building, to be about 20 X 30', deed it to the Town for the exclusive use of the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Mardin ask the Town to provide the site for the building. After discussing the matter, it was referred to the Public Building Committee, together with Lee Tallant and the Clerk. Mayor Brodie presented a petition to the Board, dated June 11, 1950, signed by 23 citizens, requesting that immediate action be taken to abate the nuisance caused by occupants of parked cars along West River- side Drive, attending Riverside Amusement Park. The Board agreed with the petition in general, ordered the light & power committee to install adequate street lighting on West Riverside Drive and authorized the Chief of Police to employ an additional officer for the balance of the season. The Board expressed confidence that this would eliminate the nuisance. There being no further business, it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn. Attest:
