Minutes of a ial„meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park, Latimer
County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Rates Park on the 29th

This special meeting called for the purpose of considering
emergency measurers relating to an epidemic of rabiee, now existing
in Denver and spreading into Larimer County. Wm. E. Banks reported
to the Board on a meeting called by the County Commissioners, held
in Fort Collins on March 27th, with Towns within the County represen-
ted. Following a detail discussion of facts and opinions the Mara
unanimously passed and adopted the following Resolution:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS; officials of the State of Colorado and of the County
of Larimer, have taken emergency measures to control the present
epidemic of rabies;
AND WHEREAS, the Town of Estes Park, together with every To
in Larimer County hae been called upon to tzke immediate pre-
ventative measures;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF ESTES PARK, acting in the capacity of -the local Board of
Health, that -the following orders, rulce and regulations be strictly
enforced and -promptly complied with;
Every dog within the Town sahll be inoculated for prevention
of rabies.
Every dog within the Town hall be licensed, and a fee paid by
the owner of one dollar for each male dog and two dollars for
each female.'
All dogs shall be confined to the owners premises or on a leash
for a two week period.
All unlicensed dogs or strays shall be impounded, and if not
calle for, licensed and inouclated, within four daye, they shall
be destroyed
That proper penalties be assessed for any violation of these
regulations, according to Ordinance.
The above regulations to become effective April 5th, 1950.
The Police Shief was instructed to enforce the above regulations and
to collect a fee of one dollar, in addition to license fee, for the
release of an impounded dog. Lee Tallant was instructed to build
a dog pound. The Chief reported that a D.V.M. would be in Estes Park
to make all necessary inoculations.
