Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park, Lorimer

County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the
day of January , A. D. 19 49 at regular meeting hour.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Ronald C. Br0 di e
Present: Mayor Ronald C. Brodie Trustees: G.E. Cagey, Clarence
Graves, S.M. Hurd, Merl Morehead, Glen Swearingen, Geo. H. Watson.
Also Present: Lee H. Tallant, Supt. of Works
Maurice Cole, Supt. of Power
Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk
Absent: None.
Minutes of the regular meeting held on January loth, read and
approved as read.
In accordance with the action of the Board at the last meeting, the
Clerk presented a proposed amendment to Ordinance No. 15. Following
the discussion and corrections inserted, Trustee Morehead introduced
ant Ordinance entitled
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15 PASSED AND ADOPTED
ON MAY fx; 26, 1919, AND ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE IN RELATION
TO BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND BUILDING PERMITS IN THE FIRE
LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK"
and moved that it be adopted. Trustee Swearingen seconded the
motion. Said Ordinance was then read in full. Upon roll call said
motion carried by the following vote: Those voting "Yes" trustees
Casey, Graves, Hurd, Morehead, Swearingen and Watson. Those voting
"No" None. Whereupon Mayor Brodie declared said Ordinance passed
and adopted, ordered it numbered 120, and published according
to law.
The Board reviewed the portion of Ordinance No. 15, as amended,
relating to the issuing of building permits, and requested the
Building Committee and the Town Clerk, in the future, to comply
strictly with the terms of the Ordinance in issuing building permits.
The Clerk informed the Board that the Board of Adjustment of The
Town of Estes Park, acting under Ordinance No. 115, had prepared
and presented the Board of Trustees with an amendment to Ordinance
No. 115, which in effect would zone all property in Al Fresco
Place North of Valley Road in the R L Residence District, and re-
commended that it be passed and adopted. Trustee Watson then in-
troduced the following Resolution and moved that it be adopted:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, an Ordinance has been presented to the Board of Trustees
of The Town of Estes Park, amending the provisions of Ordinance No.
115, being entitled "An Ordinance Zoning the Town of Estee Park, Colo.
AND WHEREAS, the statutes of the State of Colorado require a
public hearing in relation to said proposed amendment before its
passage and adoption;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that a public hearing in relation
to said proposed amendment be held on the 14th day of February,
1949 at the hour of 8 o'clock P.M. at The Town Hall in the Town
of Estes Park, Colorado and the Town Clerk is hereby directed to
give at least fifteen days notice of the time and place of such
hearing by publication of such notice in The Estes Park Trail, a
weekly newspaper published in Estes Park, Colorado.
Trustee Casey seconded the motion. Upon roll call said motion was
carried and said Resolution passed and adopted by the following vote.
Those voting "Yes" Trustees Casey, Graves, Hurd, Morehead, Swearingen
and Watson. Those voting "No" None.

Present: Mayor Trustees:
The Clerk read a letter from David H. Canfield, Superintendent
of Rocky Mountain National Park, addressed to the Town Board,
dated January 18, 1949, proposingthat the Town tr$ snit over
Town owned power lines, electric energy belonging to the
National Park Service, from the Lake Estes Power Pl: t to the
National Parkls installations, providing equitable rates
could be agreed upon. The Board instructed Superintendent
Maurice Cole to compile the necessary information needed to
consider such a proposal.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
it was regularly. moved, seconded and carried that the meeting
adjourn.
