Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park, Larimer
County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the 13 th
day of Bept ember , A. D. 19 48 at regular meeting hour.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Pro Tem, Clarence Graves.
Present: Mayor pro Tem. C.A. Gravegrustees: G.E. Casey, Clarence
Graves, S.M. Hurd, Merl Morehead and George H. Watson.
Also Present: Town Clerk Pro Tem, Lee H. Tallant.
Absent: Mayor Ronlad C. Brodie, Town Clerk Verne H. Fanton,
Trustee Glen V. Swearingen.
Minutes of the regular meeting held on August 23rd, read and approved
as read.
Trustee Watson moved that the following bills be allowed and paid
and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same: Trustee
Morehead seconded the motion:

Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those voting
"Yes" Trustees Casey, Hurd, Morehad and Watson. Those voting No, None.
Following the reading of an application by the United States Bureau of
Reclmation, under date of September 3rd, 1948, for a permit to construct
a temporary transmission power line through Stanley Park, Trustee S.M.
Hurd moved that. the permit be granted upon reasonable terms and con-
ditions and in accordance with the application and map presented by the
Bureau of Reclamation. Trustee G.E. Casey seconded the motion. Upon
roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those voting "Yee"
Trustees Casey, Hurd, Morehead and Watson. Those voting "No", none.
Trustee G.E. Casey moved that the application by 0.M. Nagel, for the re-
newal of the 3.2% beer license be approved. Trustee Watson seconded the
motion. Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those
voting "Yes" Trustees Casey, Hurd, Morehead and Watson. Those voting
"No", None.
A letter from R.J. Strob was read to the Board asking permission to
hold publio auctions for the sale of furniture at The Estes Park Furni-
ture store. The Board declared this would be in violation of Ordinance
No. 115 and denied the request.
Mr. & Mrs. Clyde Low, Mr. & Mrs. Eselinger and Mr. Wm. Grove, property
owners along; Cleave Avenue, appeared before the Board proposing that
Cleave Avenue be oiled. The Committee was informdd that the Town had
been attempting to obtain the services of a contractor to do oiling of
Town streets but had not been able to do so, also that negotiations were
favorable toward oiling additional streets in the spring of 1949.
