HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Town Board 1944-03-271 Cotun of Cotes Park, Larimer County, Colorado, March 27 19 44 Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park, Lorimer County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the day of Mar Ch A. D. 19 44 at regular meeting hour. Meeting called to order by Mayor Glen H, Preston 27th Present: Mayor Glen H. Preston Trustees: G.E. Casey, Robert H. Lindley, Paul J. Monahan, George H. Watson. Absent: Trustees, R.C. Brodie and S.M. Hurd. Also Present: Verne H. Fanton, Town Clerk. Minutes of the regular meeting held on March 13, read and approved as read. All regular employees of the Town appeared before the Board. Mayor Preston addressed the employees in appreciation for their services to the Town. Trustee G.E. Casey introduced and read the following Resolution. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, by the Statutes of the State of Colorado, the 4th day of Rpril, 1944 is fixed as the time for the election of the Mayor and six Trustees of the Town of Estes Park; AND WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Board of Trustees to provide for holding such election and appointing the Judges to conduct it; AND WHEREAS, THE TIME FOR THE FILING OF Nominations with the Town Clerk and Recorder has expired; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an election for the purpose of electing a Mayor and six Trustees shall be held on Tuesday, the 4th day of April, 1944; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the polling place shall be the Town Hall located within the Town of Estes Park, that the polls shall be open from seven o'clock A.M. until seven o'clock P1M. on said election day; that Ora Carr2 Rowland Reed and Mabel Low be and they are hereby appointed as the Judges of said election, to conduct the same, and they shall receive for their services the sum of seven dollars each. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk & Recorder be and he is hereby authorized to give notice of the election by publication as provided by law; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk & Recorder shall, at the expense of the Town, have said Ballots printed, and shall, at the expense of the Town arrange for voting booths and such materials and supplies for such election as may be necessary. Trustee Paul J. Monahan moved the adoption of said Resolution, and the motion being seconded by Trustee Robert H. Lindley, and upon vote being taken, said Resolution was carried by the dollowing vote: Those voting "Yes" Trustees, Casey, Lindley, Monahan and Watson. Those voting "No", None. Trustee Casey reported on plans being made by the Park Co ittee for the 'improvement of the Town Park.
