Minutes oF a.....reglaar....,..meeting of the.Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park, Lirirner
County, Colerado.Meeting -held in:the Town Hall in aid TOWn of Estes Park on the
day of May , A. D, 1944 at regular meeting hour.
Meeting called to order by Mayor, Glen.E. Preston
Present: Mayor Glen H. Preston Trustees: G.E. Casey, R.H. Lindley,
Paul J. Monahan and George H. Watson.
Also Present: Town Clerk, Verne H. Fanton, Attorney Chilson.
Absent: R.C. Brodie and S.M.Hurd.
Minutes of the regular meeting held on May 8 read and approved
as read.
Mr. J.E. Dolan of the State Board of Health, R.W. Brand, Town
Milk Inspector, and fifteen citizens, representing the milk
distributors and retailers, appeared before the Board to express
their opinions regarding the adoption of a proposed milk Ordinance.
All those present were given an opportunity to be heard, and
following a detail discussion, Mayor Preston announced that the
Board would investigate the details and legal aspect and attempt
to arrive at -an improved, pratical milk Ordinance.
A restaurant -liquor application for the Chez-Jay Building, signed
by Mrs. Al Beard, of Aurora Colorado, was presented to the Board,
The Clerk read four letter of reference, in reply to inquirys.
Trustee George H. Watson moved that the liquor license application
of Jesse H. Jay, approved on the 13th day of December, 1943, be
rescinded, and that the application of Mrs. Al Beard be approved.
Trustee Paul J. Monahan seconded the motion. Upon roll call the
above motion -carried by the following vote: Those, voting "Yes",
Trustees Casey, Lindley, Monahan and Watson. Those voting "No", None.
An application for a 3.2% beer license, signed by Leo Rowland,
location of business to be in the building owned by Gordon Hutchins,
was presented to the Board. Following a discussion, Trustee Watson
moved that said application be approved. Trustee Casey seconded
the motion. Upon roll callsaid motion carried by the following vote:
Those voting'"Yes", trustees Casey, Lindley, Monahan and Watson.
Those voting '"No", None,
In order to better maintain Public Peace and Safety, Trustee Lindley
moved that George W. Smith be appointed a Deputy Marshall for The
Town of Estes Park, without compensation. Trustee Monahan seconded
the motion. Upon roll call said motion carried by the following
vote: Those voting "Yes", trustees Casey, Lindley, Monahan and
Watson. Those voting "No", None.
There being no liquor license applications now on file with the
Town, and the Board of Trustees being of the opinion that the
maximum number of liquor licenses for the Town have now been
approved, TrUstee Lindley moved that no more liquor licenses be
approved forthe year 1944. Trustee Monahan seconded the motion.
Upon roll call said motion carried by the following vote: Those
voting "Yes"; Trustees Casey, Lindley, Monatan and Watson.
Those voting -"No", None.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, it was
regularly moved, seconded and carried that the meeizg adjourn.
