Meeting held in the Town Fie II in said Town of Estes Park on the.. 6th • day of July. A. D. 19_43 at regular meeting hour, Meeting called to order by Mayor Glen H. Preston Present Mayor Glen H. Preston Trustees: B.C. Brodie, G.E. Casey, S.M. Hurd, R.H. Lindley, Paul J. Monahan, George H. Watson, Also Town Attorney, Hatfield Chilson, Mr. Bennison, representing the War Relocation Authority, appeared before the Board regarding Mr. R. Kato a Japanese alien, who recently moved into Estes Park to operate a business. Mr. Bennison was informed th-t the public senti- ment was strongly against Mr. Kato and that he should be placed in some other area. It was, agreed that in the future any similar problem would be handled through the Town Bo,rd. Mr. Chilson outlined to the Bo:rd, the necesarry steps and proceedure to be followed, in the event the Town decided to acquire the power distribution system. The balance of t!te meeting was spent discussing this possibility. There being no further business to come before the meeting it was regularly moved, seconded and. carried that the meeting adjourn. Correction: Mr. Bennison, representing the War Relocation Authority, appeared before the Board regarding Mr. R. Kato a Japanese alien, who recently moved into Estes Park to operate a business on Elkhorn Avenue. Mr. Bennison was informed that the public sentiment was strongly against Mr. Kato and that the public believed he should be place in some other area. Mr. Bennison agreed that he would try and relocate Mr. Kato. It was mutually agreed betwwen Mr. Bennison and the Board that in the future any similar pro- blem would be presented to the Board of Trustees for it's approval before taking any action. Mayor Attest:
