Minutes of a gulmeeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park, Larimer
County, Colorado. Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the 28th
day of June A. D. 19 43 at regular meeting hour.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Glen H, Preston
Present: Mayor Glen H. Preston Trustees: R.C. Brodie, G.E. CaseY:
S.M. Hurd, R.H. Lindley, Paul J. Monahan and George H. Watson.
Absent, None.
Minutes of the regular meeting held on Juae 7k 1543, read and
approved kS read.
Trustee Casey moved and trustee Watson seconded the motion,
that the application of James F. Burk, for a retail liquor
store license, be approved and that Mr. Burk be advised by.
letter of the following facts; "The approval of this license
does not establish any priority rights for a similar license
in the future, and that this license is not 11,.eesurily an
exclusive license." Upon roll call the above motion carried
by the following vote: Those voting "Yes", • ustees Brodie,
Casey, Hurd, Lindley, Monahan and Watson. Th e voting "No"
None.
R.W. Brand, D.V.M. Town Milk Inspector, appeared before the
Board and submitted a milk inspection record for the Month of
June, showing all tests to be satisfactory.
It was brought to the attention of the Board, through com-
plaint by local citizens, that vistors to the Town, riding
saddle horses on Main street at i high rate oP speed, con-
stitute a grave hazard to the public. The Clerk was instruc-
ted to write the Estes Park Liverymen's Association asking
their cooperation in giving the fiders proper instruction
before they leave the livery.
The Board was informed that a residence, recently constructed
by Holman Lee might have been built partly in the street
right of way . This matter was referred to the street & alley
committee to investigate.
At the inviatation of the Board, Mr. Earl Douglas and Mr.
Herbert zitgilimx Albert of Fort Collins appeared before the
Board and conferred at length, regarding the possibility
of the Town of Estes Park acquiring their own power dis-
tribution system. At the conclusion of the discussion, the
Clerk. was instructed to arrange a special meeting with the
Town Attorney.
Trustee Watson and trustee Monahan reported favorably on
their interview with C.H. Howell, Chief Engineer of the Bureau
of Reclamation, regarding the pessibility of the Town pur-
chasing power from the Reclamation Bureau.
Their being no further business to come before the meeting
it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting
adjourn.
