Meeting called to order by Mayor. C. N. Rockwell.
Present: Mayor C. N. Rookwell Trustees: .Harry B. Boyd, Ronald C.
Brodie, Oarey E. Ca'sgy and Silas M. Hurd. Clerk: Chas. F. Hix
Absents Trustees C. Byron Hall and Glen H. Preston.
Minutes of a regular meeting held September 11, 1939 were read and ap-
proved as read.
An Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICAN A LICENSE OR FRANCHISE FOR THE USE OF THE PUBLIC STREETS,
HIGHWAYS, ALLEYS AND ,OTHER PUBLIC PROPERTY AND PRIVATE PROPERTY 0
WHICH THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK HAS AN EASPMENT, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION,
OPERATION AND MAINTAINANCE OF CERTAIN WORKS AND TO AUTHORIZE THE
EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT IL, EN THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK AND THE UNTED
STATES OF AMERICA" was introduced by Trustee Brodie. Whereupon the said
Ordinance was read in full. Trustee Brodie introduced the following
Resolution:
"Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the Town of
Estes Park, Colorado, that said Board of Trustees desiring to further
consider the granting of the rights and privileges sought in the proposed
Ordinance granting a franchise to the Untted States of America, that said
Ordinance be published for a period of two weeks in the Estes Park Trail,
and that said Ordinance shall be presented for final passage + public-
ation at the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of
Estes Park to be held on October 23, 1939, at 7:30 P. M."
Whereupon Trustee Boyd moved and Trustee Casey seconded the motion that
said Resolution be passed and adopted. Upon roll call said motion was
carried by the following vote: Yes: Trustees Boyd, Brodie, Casey and
Hurd. No: none.
Mr. L. E. Grace oame before the Board and presented a petition signed by
the property owners having property abutting on the South side of Elkhorn
Avenue between Moraine Drive and Johnson's Garage, asking that the side-
walk on the North side of Block 6, Hupp's Addition and Resubdivision, from
Moraine Drive West to the Alley be widened to provide a nine foot walk and
asking the Town to install a new curb.
There being no further business to come before the meeting it was regularly
moved, seconded and carried that meeting adjourn.
