APPROVAL OF NEW BYLAWS
Due to lack of committee quorum, a vote was not taken on the new by-laws.
PUBLIC ART POLICY
The Town Board has tasked the Parks Advisory Board with the creation of a public art
policy. The board must establish guidelines and an ordinance along with the policy.
Kevin McEachern distributed copies of Loveland’s public art policy as an example of the
kind of policy the Town would like to create. Mr. McEachern will find out more
information on the creation of the art policy, such as the timeline and authoring of the
policy, and report this information to the board at the next meeting.
TREE CARE ORDINANCE
Tree City USA requirements include each Tree City to maintain a Tree Care Ordinance.
The Town does not currently have a Tree Care Ordinance. In order to maintain our
status as a Tree City, an ordinance must be created by the Parks Advisory Board and
passed by the Town Board. Sample ordinances and resources for ordinance creation
may be found at www.arborday.org.
COMMITTEE VACANCIES & POSTINGS
Interviews were recently held, with one recommendation going to the Town Board for
approval at the July 22nd meeting. The newest board member will join the August
meeting.
Apryle Craig will be moving out of Town in August to pursue her PhD in Seattle. The
July meeting will be her last and she intends to forward a letter to Human Resources
tendering her resignation from the Parks Advisory Board shortly after the July meeting.
Another posting for board vacancies will be advertised soon.
OTHER BUSINESS
With no other business for discussion, Kevin McEachern adjourned the meeting at 4:31
p.m.
