Her parents, Quentin and Lucille Younglund, owned and operated a couple of lodges and a successful general construction company in Estes Park since the late 1950’s. Younglund Construction was known for quality customs homes as well as a prominent downtown icon, the beautiful Estes Park Bank across from Bond Park. After high school graduation Cindy attended college in Nebraska studying business. During her time in Nebraska she married into a farming family, started a family, and was heavily involved in establishing the country’s first organic pork production facility in Nebraska. Wanting to further her education, she returned to school and graduated from nursing school. In 1992, she returned to Estes Park where she continued to work full-time in the nursing field while actively raising her three children. She joined her parents in starting a new lodging venture adjacent to a lodge they used to own. The new venture, Wildwood Inn, began welcoming guests in 1995 and is considered as one of the premier family owned and operated Inn’s in the valley. She became very active in the lodging community serving on the final Chamber of Commerce board and being instrumental in the startup of Estes Area Lodging Association, that passion led her to serve several years as a board member as well as president. During this time, she sat on different committees of the wedding association. Together with her second husband they raised 8 wonderful children all of whom went k- 12 in the Estes Park school system. They enjoy spending time with their children and their 9 grandchildren, as well as traveling both international and domestically. Their favorite pass time is camping and traveling in their class A motor home whether it is to visit kids or to explore a different part of our beautiful country.
