HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION 47-19RESOLUTION47-19ARESOLUTIONOFTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESFORTHETOWNOFESTESPARK,COLORADO,DIRECTINGTHETOWNCLERKTOCONDUCTTHEREGULARMUNICIPALELECTION,SCHEDULEDFORAPRIL7,2020,ASAMAILBALLOTELECTIONANDAUTHORIZINGTHETOWNCLERKTOAPPOINTELECTIONJUDGESWHEREAS,bytheStatutesoftheStateofColorado,the7thdayofApril,2020isfixedasthetimeforaregularmunicipalelectiontoelecttheMayorandthreeTrustees.WHEREAS,itisthedutyoftheBoardofTrusteestoprovidefortheholdingofsuchanelection;andWHEREAS,itisthedecisionoftheTownBoardbytheadoptionofthisResolutiontoholdtheRegularMunicipalelectionofApril7,2020bymailballotpursuanttotheprovisionsofSection31-10-907—31-10-913CR5.;andWHEREAS,Section31-10-401,C.R.S.,1973,allowstheBoardofTrusteestodelegatetotheTownClerk,byResolution,theauthorityandresponsibilitytoappointtheJudgesofElection.NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARK,COLORADO:1.ThatpursuanttotheprovisionsofSections31-10-907—31-10-913C.R.S.theMunicipalElectionofApril7,2020shallbeamailballotelection.2.ThatJackieWilliamson,TownClerkbeandisherebyappointedastheDesignatedElectionOfficialfortheTownofEstesParkfortheconductofthismailballotelection.3.Thereshallbeone(1)precinctforthismailballotelection.ThemailballotlocationforsaidprecinctshallbetheEstesParkTownHall,170MacGregorAvenue,EstesPark,Colorado80517.4.Tobeeligibletovoteinthisregularmailballotelection,apersonmustbeatleasteighteen(18)yearsofage,aresidentofthetown,andhasresidedintheStateofColoradofortwenty-two(22)daysimmediatelyprecedingtheelectionpursuanttoC.R.S.§31-10-2019(1)(b).5.AnelectronicvotingsystemshallbeusedintheSpecialElectionandtheTownClerkisherebyauthorizedanddirectedtoperformallactsandfunctionsnecessaryfortheuseofsuchelectronicvotingsystemasrequiredbythelawsoftheStateofColoradopertainingthereto. 6.PursuanttoC.R.S.§31-10-401,theDesignatedElectionOfficialisherebydelegatedtheauthorityandresponsibilitytoappointjudgesoftheelectionatleastfifteen(15)daysbeforetheElectionDay.7.TheJudgesofElectionshallreceivefortheirservicesthesumof$14perhour.8.TheDesignatedElectionOfficialshallestablishtheformoftheregularmailelectionballot.9.TheTownClerkshall,attheexpenseoftheTown,arrangeforsuchmaterialsandsuppliesforsuchelectionasmaybenecessary.DATEDthisLUdayofDCunu-ti—2019.TOWNSTESPARKMayorATTEST:Towh0Clerk
